  • Does what it says it does - ignore uninformed reviewers

    By snipeyhead (Pcmac user)

To "Doesn't work at all", look at the product description. It doesn't claim to convert video to animated gifs, so criticizing it for not doing that doesn't make sense. Read the description of something before you buy it and then get angry that it doesn't do what you want. To "Bob_K" - that's simply not true. It exports to gif format, as expected. This app does one thing - it knits togetether still photographs into an animation. It does not do video. Meaning it does not import video and make video into animated gifs (Try GifBrewery for that), and it does not export to video format (use Quicktime for that - you already have it). And it does this well, regardless of what other reviewers are saying. I suspect what they thought it did was different from it it claimed to do, because they didn't read the product description. There is one bug in it currently that is causing a crash - I'm hoping the app dev will correct this. If you use the mask to mask off only part of an image (for example, if you have a portrait-style image and a landscape, and you need to use a common size between them) and one of the additional frames isn't big enough to fit within the mask - the app crashes. Otherwise it seems to work just fine.
  • The other reviews are crap!

    By Masterfunky121213 (Pcmac user)

I have been using this App for a while now and it hasn't crashed, saved in some unknown alternative form other than .gif, and it is pretty easy to create a gif just by selecting a few pictures at a time (which is what this app is for by the way). I think that this app is probably better than all of the other gif creators in the app store and worth my $2. My only complaint though is that sometimes the quality of the gif goes down to an unreasonable level, but it doesn't happen all the time.
  • just as described! :)

    By afbaka (Pcmac user)

fantastic and quick gif maker. couldn't be easier. some of the directions on the screenshots are confusing I guess, but basically, just drag a bunch of images into the top box and then use that copy all to bottom box button (the three stacked boxes with a down arrow) and then rearrange as necessary once in the bottom box. set your time for each individual slide (or all at once by checking the not-pictured "all frames" box before adjusting the slider). click the film strip button and it makes it into a gif! voila! :D thanks for the easy and cheap alternative to all the crappy online gif makers. i will use this often to create scrolling web ads for my business. :)
  • Not Very Intuitive or Slick, But Workable

    By RareWaveMusic (Pcmac user)

I have to say that this is not the most intuitive application on my Mac (2008 iMac with 4GB RAM running 10.8.2), it's just not "there" yet, but I was able to make it work nicely using QuickTime Pro (which I've had for years) which allows one to output a video into individual frames which can then easily be imported into this. From there, the editing and timing process is fairly easy to work with and export as a GIF which I've had no problems uploading to various sites. I use it mostly for making animated GIFFs on Tumblr and Cinemagram. Considering the limitations, it was worth the price to me, but I would have paid more for something really great and totally understand other reviewers' frustrations.
