  • Great program, can recommend; developers do a good job of addressing customer requests

By Fried Green Tomatillos (Pcmac user)

This is a great product, and I used it years ago when it first came out. I am using this on a macbook with Mountain Lion, and I find that there is no way to increase the screen view to make it easier to read, which I ask developers to add in the next version. Also, please add to the food database (the idea and ease of adding food is wonderful!!!) an auto recalculate for portion size. Unless I am doing it incorrectly, I enter a food, say 1 egg, and have the option to change quantities. While the quantities may change in my entry to 2 eggs, no food value recalculates, and the instruction notes seem to suggest that I am to manually calculate each cell in the database. This needs to be, and can be easily, automated. Otherwise, great program and wonderful way to keep bg in close view.
  • Pretty good program

    By Parsondave (Pcmac user)

I find the glucose and exercise programs exceptional. I would like to see a line for A1C readings. I really don’t like the food logging program at all. Some products for which I wanted to alter quantities were measured in ounces; i needed them to be measured in cups or tsp or tblsp. Altering amounts requires an esoteric knowledge of how the foods are calculated, then apply basic arithmetic to recalculate volumes appropriately. The locating foodstuffs is awful, and requires guesses as to how the particular food is catalogued. It is not a transparent part of the program. I use another much simpler program for logging food, then transfer calories and carbs to this app by using the Quick Entry button. Fortunately that part of the program accepts all kinds of names that I can use for these entries. If Calorie Count provided Glucose logging, and a place for A1C logging I would use that program exclusively. But they don’t. What I do works for me, therefore I am content to give this app a 3 star.
  • iPhone app needs subscription

    By LisaAtHome (Pcmac user)

I really like what this app does. It’s pretty easy to navigate and enter your data. Just needs to have a “recently entered” list. The thing I don’t like is that I enter 95% of my data on my iPhone because, well…it’s ALWAYS with me. Now that I have been using the sister app on my iPhone they want me to pay for a monthly or annual subscription. Shouldn’t the sister app be free, especially since I paid $30 for this one? Or at the very least be a cheap one time purchase price. Glad I synced my data up a couple of days ago because now it’s being held hostage in my phone because I can’t sync it without a subscription because, apparently, it’s been three weeks. I will now have to manually enter into the app on my desktop everything for the past few days. Not cool.
  • Crashes! Does not work right!!!

    By DLR57 (Pcmac user)

The new/updated version of this app (that is designed to work with the new Yosemite software) does not work right. It continually crashes, does not allow you to do food editing (adding and saving new foods or organizing favorites). It does not recognize that there is a data file already started so you have to go search for it from your file list (instead of it showing up like it’s supposed to). It states there is an i-phone and i-pad app - neither of which exists. I had wanted some kind of protable tool to use. I’m really disappointed. So many other people praised this app… all I can say is don’t spend your money on it right now… it’s really messed up!!! Just adds to my frustration when I am trying to deal with a new diagnosis.
