1. While in background MapAlarm uses battery-friendly wifi / cell tower positioning.

2. MapAlarm will help you whenever it comes to remembering places, sharing them & getting things done at certain locations.

3. The arrow icon on top of your screen does not indicate that GPS is turned on but only location services in general.

4. MapAlarm will remind you even if your iPhone/iPad is idle or if you’re currently using a different app.

5. Continued use of GPS running in the background can decrease battery life.

6. You needn't be connected to a wifi, of course - just leave the switch on.

7. DON'T WORRY about battery life! GPS is turned OFF by default.

8. Let your iPhone / iPad remember locations and tasks for you.

9. PLEASE NOTE that for best results WIFI should be enabled.

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using MapAlarm on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "MapAlarm"
The search will reveal the MapAlarm - Store My Places, OpenStreetMaps, Send My Position, GPS Reminders app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once MapAlarm is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including MapAlarm.
Now enjoy MapAlarm on PC.

Great app!

I've tested a dozen apps of this type, and this is the only one I've found that both works reliably in the background and doesn't drain my battery. (iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.2.1, app setting power mode "when locked or in background", alarm distance: 500m. I charge every night, but only at night.)
Small issue

When I loaded the app, I gave it location services permission, but it still loaded a map of Berlin. I try using the crosshair button, but it does not show my current location. I can search for a location nearby and see that it has a pin at my current location, however, it still will not snap to my location when I hit the crosshairs, which is what I would expect. It also will not let me set an alarm for my current location, which would be useful. If these issues were fixed, I'd be willing to pay for this application.
great location reminder & maps app

I tried a couple of GPS reminder apps ... this app is clearly my favorite. Great to see how the app gets better and better with every upgrade. I like the easy way to share my places ... and thanks for adding Openstreetmaps, that's a big plus.

Please add a feature to be able to search for businesses, not just addresses... I have to switch between Maps and This App to get the address
