Install Pixelruler app on your Windows in 4 steps below:
- Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .
- Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.
- Using Pixelruler on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:
- Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Pixelruler"
- The search will reveal the Pixelruler app icon. Open, then click "Install".
- Once Pixelruler is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Pixelruler.
- Now enjoy Pixelruler on PC.

Has a lot of potential

The concept is good, but it could be so much better with a minor amount of modification. Here are my hopes:
1. Make it possible to rotate w/o having to go to the menu. Make the corners grab-able to rotate it around.
2. Make the scale customizable so that you can set any distance and tell it that is 1cm, for example.
I would like to use this app to be able to measure distances on images on which I already have a scale for measurement (ultrasound images). It would be enormously helpful if I could set the scale based on the scale of the image and the measure things and know exactly how large they are. Based on the zoom of the ultrasound image, the scale changes. Right now I can use this app simply to estimate sizes. I could be precise if I could adjust the scale myself. Set it to a distance and then tell the app this is 1cm, for example.

Not that great

If you've ever used another calipers on another OS then you will find this one severely lacking. This is the only one I could find for OS X and I am terribly disappointed.
UPDATE: So I looked around and everything else is $20-$30. I decided to stick with this one that cost $2. It is not as good as the ones I've used in the past but it does the job OK. I found out here how to change the orientation which was a big frustration for me. YOU CAN DOUBLE-CLICK ANYWHERE ON THE CALIPER! not just on the little screws. I'm not that happy with it but since I decided to keep using it instead of paying $20, I really shouldn't complain too much.

Nice updates with version 2.0 one minor bug *FIXED*

*BUG FIX HERE* Some of the previous reviewers, along with myself, had an issue with the ruler not showing up after updating, I figured out that by pressing r with the app open the ruler would reset it's position, and now all is well. The new update features rotation, along with the ruler expanding as needed which is nice.

A good, inexpensive screen ruler.

My only quibble, and not enough to drop it to 4 stars is: the edges of the tool are sometimes lacking in contrast. An excellent, and much appreciated update, would be to add some setting or preference for adjusting the color of the tool's edge (and possible some zoom functionality).
