  • Random volume=blown speakers

    By Zeke257 (Pcmac user)

The last update seemed to correct the issue with not finding the receiver for 30 seconds. However, now it is basically unusable unless you are okay with blowing out your speakers. I have two zones, and when I want one zone on and not the second, the volume often maxes out on the zone I don’t want on at all when I turn on the the second zone. And it takes a few seconds of panic to get it shut back off. This happens even if I have the other zone muted. The mute turns off and cranks the volume to 70+. It doesn’t always happen, guessing 1/4 of the time. Complete garbage, and if you’ve spent some money on good speakers you’re really taking a risk by using this app. And before anyone asks, the super high random volume is not a “feature” (ie remembering the last volume setting for that zone), because it gets cranked to more than double of the loudest I’ve ever played music. It didn’t do this the first 4-5 years I used the app.
  • Stopped working mysteriously

    By Aguyontheinternet (Pcmac user)

App worked fine before the latest update. Now, the app attempts to open, then force quits to the home screen of my up to day iPhone XS. Puzzlingly, the app shows as active as a background process, showing up as expected when app switching. When attempting to switch to it however, it will disappear. Attempted an uninstall/reboot/reinstall and upon successfully opening the app, it won’t detect my networked and static IP’d receiver. Pitiful and sad. Used to be mostly functional, if a little slow, but it’s 2019 now and customers EXPECT correctly implemented integration with their devices. There’s simply no excuse for this. That’s what you get with a third party dev, I suppose. the app needs to step this app thing up as the world is moving quickly toward app integration rather than juggling remotes for functionality.
  • Good AVR App

    By evilanimator (Pcmac user)

Didn’t have any issues with setting up my x1100w via Ethernet and DNS. Device showed up immediately in the app. Love the app’s ability to change sound programs on the fly. Accessing the AVR’s setup and configuration screens is intuitive and it’s a lot more sophisticated to use for making quick channel volume adjustments. Nitpicks would be that the app’s icon needs an update to better match the overall look of iOS. The GUI could use a touch up as well, but I found the app to be a good utility and a nice quick way to adjust the volume when the remote is out of reach.
  • Latest update works better..:

    By Drums slot (Pcmac user)

Previous versions just flat out didn't work for me - even after rebooting everything. The latest version works - and for the most part is reliable. I have had to reboot my wireless access point once to get it working again which I find very odd since every other device in the entire house has worked flawlessly (including a home server). The app is decently designed and gives me access to most of what I'd want to do without grabbing a physical remote. 4 stars only because of the periodic need to occasionally have to reboot my access point.
