  • Terrible App and heres why..

    By Temptek (Pcmac user)

This app is really bad.. And a ripoff too...1st of all you cant zoom in or out on the font for any articles or images and the app does not come with binoculars or bifocals to see the fine print especially on images...this is an Epic fail... 2nd.. the front page cannot be made full screen and for some reason they thought it was a cool idea to share half the front page with gigantic index links on the left .. So no full screen front page and no zoom for the tiny font on image descriptions...You would think "zoom" would be a basic function on an app designed for reading... 3rd...If your reading an article and slide the article up or down to continue reading the hidden parts of the article and if you let go, the article will roll back to either the top or the bottom of the article..so you must keep your finger on the article when moving it up or down or you will lose your position.....SOOOOO STOOOOPID.. Why doesnt' the articles position stay where the reader leaves it?...i would personally fire the bonehead who approved the roll out of such a terrible app..ive had the app over a year now and was just assuming that they would have fixed this by now ... This app is not cheap....i will not be renewing my subscription...especially since this app has not been updated to improve usability...absolutely terrible app...
  • Fantastic App

    By djChapai (Pcmac user)

This is absolutely the best newspaper app I have seen. Much better than Wall Street Journal. I actually get kind of lost in the Journal. In the Post I always know where I am. The scroll down article feature is great. The two buttons on the bottom to scroll columns/pages to left and right are fantastic. The clickable pictures on the front page that take you right to the article are great too. The ability to get to a previous day issue is also key. I wish all other newspapers followed this UI design. I really don't get the bad reviewers. Whoever doesn't like it or looks for a paper replica doesn't get the iPad medium. The iPad form factor is too small for full magazine or newpaper page. I tried Bloomberg magazine on Zinio, and the letters are too small and hard to read. I always have to zoom in. In the Post, I don't have to zoom in. All in all, The this app has absolutely nailed it!
  • ZERO STARS-DOESN'T EVER WORK!!!

    By Boony7 (Pcmac user)

I wrote a review recently (and I never write reviews!) that needed updating. I originally warned that the NY POST app is spotty and only works sometimes. That has changed, since now, I can't ever download an issue!! I figured that the least I could do is warn others. The app I wrote about previously worked from time to time. The "the app and improved" app never, ever works. I click on the download arrow and it says it's downloading but 10,15,20 minutes later--still won't open. I've emailed their help desk numerous times and nothing they suggest ever works. Do yourself a favor and buy the paper at the store--it will save you so much time and aggravation, trust me. This app has been problematic since day 1 and just seems to be getting progressively worse, while the WSJ and other apps keep getting easier and better. Guess what the NY POST offered me for my troubles...two weeks free at the end of my subscription. Since it never, ever works, why would I want two more weeks to be reminded of how much I wasted my money. Shocked the people there still have job--maybe they all quit..maybe that's why it's eternally broken. Who knows. Either way....consider yourself warned.
  • Love the Post... Love the App!

    By WyndbrakerNYC (Pcmac user)

I recently renewed my annual subscription to the NY Post and love reading it every morning on my iPad 4. I rarely have any problems downloading issues and sharing stories by email. I also like the functionality and layout of the Post through this app, even better than The Wall Street Journal app to which I also subscribe on my iPad (as well as receive in hard copy at the front door). It was great to keep in touch with all that was happening in NYC with the weather as well as the peculiar actions of our the app socialist mayor, De Blah-Blah, while vacationing in Malaysia for three weeks and celebrating Chinese the app Year with my family. I highly recommend this app and subscription to anyone who wants to know what's really going on in the Big Apple, and doesn't want to deal with the left-wing slant and biased misinformation peddled by The the app York Times.
