To get started, Download the OpenPC software »

Frustrating Bczz

First, thank you, to the publisher making this available for free. I have enjoyed what I could. There are more than one way to approach the report on this app if either you are up for a good challenge or if you like find a way to burn time. It's possible to want both, like waiting until you've finished serving your sentence. The way I approach is to just find the solution. We assume everyone would. It's frustrating when the solution is bogus. Once that happens I leave the app forever as I'm not in jail and don't need to burn time. Case in point is the W.Pauly, puzzle. The visual solution isn't possible and the print-out of the moves isn't accurate. It's just mistakes but that's frustrating. After that I can no longer trust the app. It's good to get an eye for checkmate. The shorter scenarios are more realistic for sharpening your game. The 3- 4 move puzzles depend on the computer opponents yet unknown moves and are more like hobby time. I'm sure they will fix or remove the W.Pauly puzzle.

Great for a Free App

I am an adult beginner and this app is very helpful in exercising my mind on basic beginner tactics, while learning to play the game. There are not many exercises in the app, but there does seem to be a variety of difficulty (from my perspective anyway... these all may be a piece of cake for the well practiced the app players in the world). I do like the feature that indicates how many moves you have left while you are in the middle of the exercise, as other the app problem apps do not have that and it is easy to lose track of where you are in the problem when you are just learning. Overall, this is a fun free app and worth the download.
Great puzzles

As a beginner I have had a hard time finding the app puzzles that were easy enough for me to have any hope of solving. These puzzles met me at my level and have quickly helped me to improve my ability to checkmate. I am actually using more strategy now, and I am winning far more games.
