1. Instead of trying to cram hundreds of pages of information into a cluttered and messy interface, I designed Vimmy to be a quick and easy to use companion for the average Vi/Vim user.

2. Vimmy is a Vi/Vim quick reference tool and "cheat sheet" for users of the popular editor.

3. The colorful interface is intuitive and simple, and is divided into easy to navigate categories like "Moving Around", "Entering Text", "Search and Replace", etc.

4. It is not a complete guide to every possible Vi/Vim command, but rather an easy to use compilation of the most commonly used functions.

5. As you've probably seen, many reference books have been written for this editor.

Install Vimmy app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Vimmy on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Vimmy"
The search will reveal the Vimmy app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Vimmy is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Vimmy.
Now enjoy Vimmy on PC.

For Windows 11, check if there's a native Vimmy Windows app here » ». If none, follow the steps below:

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use Vimmy,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Vimmy" » then Click "Install".
- Vimmy will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

This is NOT, nor does it claim to be an instruction manual for Vi or Vim. It is a quick reference guide containing pretty much any command the casual user would need. If you're totally new to the Vi/Vim editors or experienced but tend to forget commands here and there, you will love this app! this app is worth paying for so you should get it now in case the dev. starts charging for it.

This app comes in handy over and over again - just starting with vim, so really appreciate being able to reference this. The categories are also a great idea! Made a request to the author for some commands to add, and got a quick response - hopefully an updated version will come soon :)

A very handy reference for commonly used commands. Awesome when you just can't be bothered to open up a new window on your jammed laptop screen.
