What is Sparkle the Game?

The app is a marble shooter game called "Sparkle" where the player has to banish the Orbs of Darkness with their Orb Slinger by matching three same color orbs to make them disappear. The game has over ten powerful Amulets and a dozen powerups to help the player clear some of the trickier challenges. The game has three modes: Quest, Challenges, and Survival.

I have plated this game all the way through more times than I can count over the last 5 or 6 years. I may abandon it for months at a time, but when I’m bored or have insomnia, I go back to it. Absolutely addictive. The subsequent the app versions don’t come close to the original. Balls are too big. Play too slow. Just not the same.

Just played this game again. I love it. After finally being able to break the chains of the IAP games I forgot how awesome this game was.

I picked this game up on a free sale some time ago, not expecting much...I figured it would be just like all the other arcade-y kinds of games out there (match 3, puzzle kinds of games, etc). While it does share some of the characteristics of those games (which I generally don't care for too much), it's so much more. This is, hands down, the most addicting game on my iPhone...in a good way. I have a LOT of games on my iPhone, most of which I play now and again, but none that I play every day...except this one. It combines the "flinging" elements of physics games (like angry birds) with the match-3 kinds of games, then adds a decent story and some RPG elements (ability to upgrade with "orbs" that have special characteristics). And it all comes together very well. AWESOME! If I had one complaint, it's that it's not the longest game in the world. It's not short, mind you, but every time I finish it (which is 3 or 4 times, and I still play it every day), I think "man, I wish there was MORE." Yes, I got it for free, but if I somehow had to do it all over again, I'd gladly pay for it...easily worth the asking price. Give us some more, 10tons!
