  • Long Time User Since Original Codebook

    By Simply Claire (Pcmac user)

Love this app. I used to use the original the app app when it first came out on the iPod touches years ago. I loved it. I redownloaded the old the app and then stumbled upon their new the app app. Apparently the old the app is no longer supported by Dropbox, and with my large amount of notes on the old app I decided to migrate them into the new the app version. I’m super interested in purchasing the full version, especially knowing it’s not only a password keeper app but also where I can keep my private notes and ideas. However, my greatest complaint is the lack of dates on the notes. I have so many notes that migrated over, however none have any dates as to when I first wrote them. Instead, all the notes are categorized by alphabetical order. I love they kept with the old simple note style, but I strongly prefer the old original the app version that categorized notes by date order. Unless I was still able to see the date recorded as to when I first created that note, this app could have been perfect and I would’ve been more than happy to dish out for the paid version. It’s such a minor thing too, you would think they’d let you categorize your notes by date created.
  • Excellent password manager and support

    By Estel2357 (Pcmac user)

I have been using the app for a couple of years, after trying several other password managers. I have stuck with the app because of it’s excellent security features and flexibility. Recently, I had contacted their support team about a bug I had discovered in an update. Their support was very responsive (like within a half hour of me contacting them!), and very helpful, keeping the service request ticket open until the problem was completely resolved. Awesome app and company! Two big thumbs up!
  • STRIP user since Palm Pilot days!

    By tnew57 (Pcmac user)

Update - Thanks to the developers for addressing my concerns! I am locked into a Windows work environment (which I am sure many users are), so a portable option for Windows would seem to be the most widely applicable. To recap, my main Enterprise-level considerations that might make it more work friendly: 1) A portable option - in most locked-down environments, you can’t get admin privileges to install your own applications. 2) To make matters worse, there are often dozens of passwords for different applications/websites in the workplace, all with staggered password lifecycles or expiration dates. Do you always log in to every site in time to change that expiring password before getting locked out - or do you find yourself trapped into a call to IT or a remote help desk to reinstate your account? How about a simple expiration date field that you could sort on to see what passwords you need to change in the coming days? I hope that the innovation continues to demonstrate the commitment to unsurpassed security and simple interface - but i sure would like to have the option to use my the app at work (instead of the cumbersome operation of fat-fingering complex passwords from my phone)! (And I’ll try to engage more on the forum, too!)
  • Is this a joke?

By instrumentation engineer MIT (Pcmac user)

I was and still am a happy user of the original the app for years. Thought this newer version would be useful. Got the trial version in App Store just now. Couldn't figure out anything. None of the fancy features shown in description was evident. Couldn't figure out to add a simple note. Couldn't see any graceful way to exit. No instructions. Is this really meant to be a functioning trial version?? The password I created was +Vq7Q*d&J%2@Mg#?Rt for a starter and it was deemed insecure by your system! I estimate that with its 18 characters each of >80 possibilities that the number of combinations to be attacked by brute force is about 20,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. I suggest that NSA would have a hard time with that. Can you tell me the level of encryption used in your handy older version of the app? It works well and is pretty to look at.
