Download an Android emulator for PC:

tChess updates

This game gets regular updates. My only complaint is information on updates or game engine changes is nonexistent. Foe example, there was an update to the stobor engine in 2016. This is about the time, probably a little later, that my tChess pro rating dropped from about 1400 to 850 (over 2500 games). It's a fight to break 900 and before I never dropped below 1100 (I play two-minute blitz games, one minute per side). I was getting killed and couldn't find any information why and was wondering about my mental faculties. Apparently the change made went to 16 cores and 9x faster than before with no information given to the tChess pro user.

In the Army in Alaska in the late 50s, I learned and played a ton of this app and got pretty good at it. Since then, however, life interfered with pleasure, and I have played little to none since. Retired now, I’d like to return to the game but am astonished at how much I have forgotten about it. After trying several apps, I have settled on this one as the pick of the litter. One can turn the clock on and off and adjust the computer’s skill level (I took it down to the bottom and am working my way back up). The one small difficulty I had was resolved overnight by Mr. Kerrigan, and I am greatly enjoying the game again.

I would highly recommend this to someone who is serious about playing this app. The function of the pgn database does many wonders! I also enjoy analyzing and relaxing over this app with the handy dark mode. The opening library is vast and helpful. All in all, one of the best investments I have ever made, although I find it strange that the app doesn’t have certain openings or gambits like the Scotch Gambit listed in the library. Despite that minor setback I love this app and have had it for nearly 5 years now. This app is definitely worth the money so give it a try!

This is one of the very best this app apps. The interface is great. And it is a great teacher for those who are just learning also. It offers hints if needed, and this helps you build on your experiences and adds to your understanding of how to play this beautiful game, and how each move has the ability to make or break your game. I love the way it helps my granddaughter (who is just learning) understand how the opening is paramount to being aware of how execution early in the game. Thanks to the developers for a superior game.
