★ ★ ★ Cholecystectomy AI Overview

What is Cholecystectomy AI? The J.A.R.V.I.S app is a tool designed to assist surgeons in identifying structures and obtaining a critical view of safety during laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The app uses machine learning algorithms to identify anatomy on live surgical feed or single images and provides a probability for correct identification. The latest version of the app also identifies the correct areas for dissection by identifying zones in a live video.

Software Features and Description

1. The app provides a fresh set of eyes to look at this anatomy and tell the surgical team in real time whether structures have been safely identified and critical view has been obtained.

2. Proper identification of the structures and obtaining a critical view of safety have been universally regarded as crucial to preventing these injuries.

3. JARVIS was named after Stark family's loyal household butler and aided Stark who was well known for his distracted nature and inability to follow instructions, despite being a genius.

4. The tool can identify anatomy on live surgical feed on a laparoscopic monitor, as well as use single images.

5. Difficult gallbladder surgeries, where a critical view cannot be obtained are any surgeon's nightmare.

6. While a higher probability indicates a greater confidence, the surgeon is still encouraged to use his judgement and other resources at his disposal before making decisions.

7. Bile duct injuries during a laparoscopic cholecystectomy are an important cause of morbidity after this commonly performed surgical procedure.

8. The only caveat is that human anatomy identification is far more complex and training machines will take more data and time.

9. For those of you who are still wondering, J.A.R.V.I.S is an acronym for "Just Another Rather Very Intelligent System' coined by Tony Stark from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

10. The model has been trained using Google's machine learning algorithms.

11. Most surgeons have another surgeon look at the anatomy in this instance.

Top Pcmac Reviews

  • Great tool!

    By Amauris Bahl (Pcmac user)

The app identifies anatomy as well as how well a critical view is obained. What I found most useful is that it tells you which components of the critical view are deficient. AI has gotten better in the 3 days since I downloaded the app, God knows what these guys will accomplish in the next year!
  • A great companion for the surgen

    By Leatricia Gallyhaock (Pcmac user)

This app identifies important anatomy as well as whether a critical view of safety has been obtained. Both models are pretty good at identifying anatomy. Poor images or instruments in the way result in wrong results but overall very helpful. Truly the way to the future!
  • Insanely great!

    By Arlethea Roeby (Pcmac user)

The app identifies live anatomy on a laparoscopic monitor. The latest version actually is giving me pointers to do better dissection. I don't usually post App Reviews but this app is just too good.
  • Waste of your time, money and effort

    By capt-dan (Pcmac user)

This app will look at a still or video image and tell you the percent chance that it contains a critical view. Doesn’t tell you how to improve the view or your dissection. What can you do with a single number telling you that your image is 63% likely to be a critical view. In addition, the user interface would not get a passing grade in an Intro to CS course. Bad idea, bad interface, bad implementation. Don’t make the same $9.99 mistake I made.
