  • Amazing app, however...

    By Madeleine Aline (Pcmac user)

When I heard that Flipd was offering an app lock feature again, I was really happy because that was the main purpose I had for Flipd. I have no self control, so forcing myself out of my phone is my best option to get myself to work. Flipd’s option for this is probably the best out there, as there’s nothing sketchy about it and it’s made specifically for people who need to force themselves off their phone, while most apps like this are for parents restricting their child’s screen time. Based off of my great past experiences with this feature, you can imagine my disappointment when I opened this app to find that I have to pay to have more than 4 locks. That defeats the entire purpose.. I’m in high school and therefore can’t pay for that. Now instead of locking my phone whenever I need to work or study, I have to be wise about when and why I use my phone locks, which just encourages me to be on my phone more! I have to find a new app to lock my phone now. I’ve looked a lot of places in the past, but none are of the quality of Flipd. I highly recommend Flipd if you can afford the subscription, but otherwise it’s pretty much useless and not paying for the subscription defeats the point of the whole app.
  • Good For Specific Use

    By Wrobl1bn (Pcmac user)

I was going to originally mention my folders not returning to the same spot, as well as the inability to select certain apps as “safe” apps i can use during the lock but, having looked at developer feedback I now see these are iOS issues the dev cannot get around, so these things have no impact on my review. These things aside I highly recommend this app, it works very well and does what it advertises: hides all “extra” apps from your device for the selected period of time so you can the app. It keeps essential apps such as phone and settings in case of emergencies as well as the apple music app for music while you work if you so desire it. I’ve been looking for a good lockdown app for awhile that I cannot back out of or sneak around to still use my device (as I’m want to do instead of studying) and this is the best so far. I’ll be recommending it to my friends to help them the app too.
  • Pick N Choose

    By Angelic2success (Pcmac user)

PLEASE add a feature so I can decide which apps I want locked. I’m new to this app and within the first hour I realized I couldn’t start locking my phone because it would remove all my apps, including Zoom that I needed for a meeting and also removes Kindle and Audible which I need for learning. Please add a feature to let us decide which apps we would like removed. Plus this would be a huge help for the dizzying experience of the alphabetized apps that reappear. My mine the app to using this app is to lock social media. Most of my other apps, besides what I use for work and learning, I never touch anyway so there’s no need for them to disappear or for me to choose to lock them. This app is a great start but I’m very hesitant to pay the subscription. Is this option coming soon?
  • Not worth it unless you have the money

    By marillavanilla (Pcmac user)

Honestly I really only downloaded this because it was required to fully lockdown my phone I had Flipd back before you needed a subscription to basically access anything. It was great for studying and it really helped get me off my phone but it’s just ridiculous you have to pay the subscriptions on both to be able to have more than 3 full locked sessions. I payed the subscription on the other app and now it’s telling me $9.99 to provide full lockdown for more than 3 times a day and it’s not ideal to have it locked down for 8 hours a day because I do of course need to be able to access my phone to get a hold of people as I don’t give my number out often.
