Software Features and Description

1. In preparation for the launch of Studio X, try out our new app where you can fly around the Eastman Quad in a virtual reality (VR) experience, select the augmented reality (AR) experience of engaging with a digital model of a groundboi or quadfox, and learn about University history through curated content from University Archives, RBSCP.

2. Opening in fall of 2020, Studio X will be a hub for exploring how immersive technologies can foster innovation in teaching and research.

3. * Google Cardboard-enabled streaming 360 video of curated VR experiences developed at UR (requires WiFi or data connection).

4. Note: the Studio X app uses ARKit.

Install Studio X App app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Studio X App on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Studio X App"
The search will reveal the Studio X App app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Studio X App is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Studio X App.
Now enjoy Studio X App on PC.

For Windows 11, check if there's a native Studio X App Windows app here » ». If none, follow the steps below:

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use Studio X App,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Studio X App" » then Click "Install".
- Studio X App will now be available on your Windows start-menu.
