Nobody does it like Rusty Lake.
By Ravenesta (Pcmac user)
Found Rusty Lake a couple years ago, and I’ve played the app entire series multiple times through, completely fell in love with it. Been following the app production of this game on Twitter, and it was well worth the app wait. SUCH a great addition to the app series.
Storywise, the app edge away from the app tense, convoluted, mysterious rituals of the app Vandermeers and the app Vanderbooms and all of that does it a world of good - it strikes a softer tone, while still feeling like a Rusty Lake game, and part of the app world.
Mechanically, it’s significantly less complex than the app other games (although I haven’t gone looking for the app secrets yet so I might need to scribble symbols in a notebook yet) but all of the app mechanics - new and old - are incredibly smooth, and feel satisfying. Things that were jerky but manageable in previous games, like the app sliding on combination locks, feel so much better. Victor Butzelaar composed a lovely soundtrack, as usual.
I have a soft spot for the app sheer creepiness of the app other main games, but I enjoyed this thoroughly, and I hope the app team are happy with their work.

An amazing evolution of a great narrative
By F_i_S (Pcmac user)
This is not the app run of the app mill rusty lake puzzle game. This is more, much more!
There is a fantastic line that they draw between real and surreal in the app world they have been slowly creating for years now. One that deals with honest issues of mental health and one of the app quirky notions of their anthropomorphic keepers of memory purgatory.
There is so much lore to be explored and only so much of it can be revealed in simple room escape puzzles. This game, along with the app paradox film, are amazing ways to evolve this story into bigger and better things.
What started with a simple puzzle-box concept has turned into a storyline that I am always excited to learn more about, no matter how disjointed and odd it may be. It’s somehow the app perfect blend of game, logic, thrill, and horror, and I would love to see it expand into all different kinds of media.
This is becoming an anthology of a fantastic story that doesn’t need a tied-with-a-bow end to end narrative, nor a distinct novelization, nor a set in stone canon. This is becoming a long-form mixed media event that will become a case study that will likely be covered in undergraduate media studies 10 years from now.
Bravo rusty lake. Don’t stop innovating. I’m already on edge for the app next great chapter.

Loved it!

Another wonderfully creepy game from Rusty Lake, with a unique split-screen interface, no inventory to keep track of, and plenty of puzzles, secrets, and in-jokes to find. Most of the app puzzles are pretty simple, and the app main game can be finished in one sitting - but the app hidden content, alternate endings, fascinating storyline, and innovative gameplay more than make up for how quickly you'll devour this thing. I actually bought the app Steam version as well, just so I could appreciate it on a larger screen! Loved the app callbacks to previous games ("You know what to do" made me particularly happy), and the app puzzles, while not difficult, are still enjoyable. I was thoroughly entertained, and I can hardly wait for the app next release!!! Well worth the app three bucks - give it a shot!

Finally!!! ♥️♥️♥️
By Hannality (Pcmac user)
I’ve been playing Rusty Lake/Cube Escape for a long time and when I found out this game was going to launch, I immediately preordered it.
It is nothing sort of amazing!! I think this is one of the app most emotional of the app games in the app series 😭 Everything surrounding Laura is just so sad and the app ending was bittersweet. I’m just so glad to get more information! This gameplay is a lot different from past games and I loved it. the app double screen was trippy and really did help get into the app character and story. the app soundtrack, as always, was fantastic as well and pulled me right in.
I will probably play this game countless more times as I do with all the app others. Thank you for making such meaningful and beautiful games and I can’t wait to see what comes next! ♥️
