Great production value but not very fun

I have to admit, the first half an hour playing this game, I was blown away. The art, voice acting, music, the high production cut scenes, everything was spot on. And as a fan of Hokuto no Ken, this game seemed like a dream come true. It was just oozing with nostalgia and fan service. But play for awhile, and you discover the gameplay is almost nonexistent. The battles look great and sound great and the specials are a joy to watch, but the combat is so simplistic it’s barely a game. Instead of fighting battles, 90% of your time spent with this game will be opening chests, farming mats, upgrading you units, stuff like that. If that sounds like fun, and you enjoy seeing your favorite Hokuto no Ken characters increase their stats with bigger numbers popping over their heads all the time, then this game is for you. Otherwise, the gameplay is pretty boring which mainly consists of farming and upgrading. Still, might as well give it a shot since it’s free to try. I still haven’t deleted the game just because I like the music when the game starts. Man that song is so epic...
Constant maintenance strips you of interest

This game is awesome! Fun to play! And all around very well done. BUT THERE ARE SO MANY DANG MAINTENANCE OUTAGES! I’ve only been playing a 2 weeks and NUMEROUSLY the server has been shut down for extended hours. I believe this is the 4th maintenance I’ve experienced in the span of a 2 weeks. If this is a trend I can see many loosing interest due to being booted from the server unexpectedly. I almost definitely appreciate all the hard work that went into the game though. I’ve made purchases in game (which is rare for me) and I really support this app. But I’m one of the ones that is slowly fading away due to server outages.

Loading screens leads to another loading screen. Every tap navigating the menus brings up the loading icon, lowering graphic settings don’t help it load faster. Special moves constantly bug out, graphics go missing during them. Random yet constant crashes that force closes the game occur way too often. Maintenance shutdowns are ridiculously long, twice it went down for over 20hrs each time. Premium in-game currency is too expensive for such a limited roster and those who can afford it can’t actually buy the fighters they want outright, everything utilizes the ‘lottery’ system. Arena battles are automated, you don’t actually play it just watch it play itself out (you can skip watching it). Some loading screens take longer than the fights/combats takes to play. VIP perks are pathetic at best. Love this franchise but I love my arms and legs too.

I’m glad we finally got a this app mobile game. This is one of those games that has pretty much all the characters that can be summoned with gems or coins. However, I’m not able to progress any further because the app keeps kicking me out whenever I try to play through the rest of the story after the 5th quest. This needs to be fixed. Please update this game. Games are meant to be actually playable.
