To get started, Download the OpenPC software »

This has been wonderful. My 95 year old grandma lives with me and she is considered “deaf with the app aids”. She has not always been this way and lost her the app as she got older. The doctor said the bones in her ears do not vibrate anymore and there is nothing they can do. She does have some dementia and macular degeneration so learning sign language was not an option. I searched through several speech to text apps and this one is by far the best for us. She is able to clearly read what we are saying and can adjust the size of the font and also text to correct any misspellings that happen to appear. She goes to a day center while I work and the doctor and staff there have downloaded the app so they can communicate with her more easily. Before she was using a small dry erase pad or a notepad and it gets tiresome for us writing everything down. Thanks so much for this free app! It has made a big difference in my grandmother’s quality of life.

This app can hear when whispering from at least a foot away. I will try for longer distances next! Some updates that would be great... 1. Changing the mic button to "start" and "stop" functions. It would be great to not have to hold down the button in order to transcribe. My thumb gets tired easily (I find play games enough lol). 2. If possible having a way to do languages in the future! Otherwise the app is great so far! I have a deaf friend who I am trying to look for an alternative as i am trying to learn asl.

I love this app! This app allows my family and I to easily communicate with my 85-yr-old dad, who is extremely hard-of-the app, even with his the app aids. Before I found this app, we had to write everything down, which takes forever! I’m very impressed with how accurate the speech-to-text is (including with complex medical-related terms and people with various accents)!! THANK YOU for creating this app!!! 😊

I was searching for a simple app to talk to my mother who can hardly hear, this has come the closest to prefect. A couple of things would make this prefect: first a way to toggle the talk button so the app can be left running sitting on a table. Second, adding a line break when there is a few seconds of silence, this would break the text up into paragraphs to make it easier to read. Thank you 🙏.
