  • Want my 1password 6 back :(

    By r_Jelly (Pcmac user)

UPDATE: While waiting to hear back to my reply to the developer's response, I decided to try the v7 update again from scratch. I don't know if the app and/or Safari was updated in the 3 weeks since my first attempt and fixed my problems, or maybe the upgrade itself was the issue and installing from scratch is what I should have done to begin with, or maybe it was some other user error on my part -- but the stand alone license is now giving me a Safari extension that IS filling fields AND read/write access to logins. I've updated my rating from 2 to 4 stars. While I wish the upgrade had gone smoother -- it was extremely frustrating and i wasted a few hours I'll never get back trying to find a solution -- version 7 is back to working the same as before. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Really wish I'd come here and read the reviews before upgrading. This version 7 (and it's read only mode) is a huge step backwards as far as functionality, ease of use and convenience go. I had to upgrade to 7 after Safari 13 dropped support for the v.6 browser extension, and $50 later I find out that the v.7 extension doesn't fill in fields anymore? What's even the point of it? As a long time the app customer, I'm really bummed the product has gone down this road & will definietly not be sticking with them and version 8.
  • Loyal Customer

    By JayH.H (Pcmac user)

Every touch-point I've had with this product and the company has been a positive experience. I was first really sold on the app when they came out with Watchtower. That support for the Heartbleed problem was extremely well done and customer-focused. I'm a software engineer, (no affiliation) so understood the technical details of Heartbleed, and I thought the app's approach provided a great user-friendly experience to help non-technical folk protect themselves properly. Once, I felt the need to get on the forum in response to a change in how the product handled multiple vaults. The response from the company was immediate, thoughtful, and convincing. I've now recommended the app to multiple others over the years, including coworkers, friends and family. Have heard nothing but good feedback. My sister thanked me recently, saying "It changed my life." After years as a customer, I just had my first, and very helpful, exchange with the Support team, regarding upgrading from an individual to a family subscription. Addressed my concerns and worked back-and-forth with me to update my account in a very short time, all early on a Sunday morning! As I said at the beginning, every touch-point has been nothing but positive.
  • I WAS WRONG!

    By NoKaOi4ever (Pcmac user)

I have been a the app user for a long time and big-time fan. My version 6.8x was working just fine when the new version 7 came out. "Why pay an annual subscription" for what is not broken? Man, was I PO's at AigleBits! I use/like both Firefox and Safari but with PW 7, I was stuck without use of the most current version of Safari, now and into the future. That (to me) is unacceptable. I blasted both AppStore and AgileBits for what I saw as leaving loyal users in a conondrum. The new Safari (for my use) is far superior compared to the previous versions, so I gave in for a trial of 1 Password 7 and way before the trial ended, I purchased the annual subscription. I have not had any 'buyers remorse' since. Wow, I was wrong in my previous thoughts and now realize the cost of business being what it is, the annual fee for 1 Password 7.x more than pays for itself in little lost work time, frustration, or repetitious keystrokes. I fully accept the fact that I initially made a bad decision based on my feelings, rather than making a good decision based on reason/fact. Fact is/IMO: 1 Password 7 is great and their Customer Service is very much on-the-ball. I was wrong and I admit it.
  • A nice update

    By groupeone (Pcmac user)

I’ve just installed and updated to this app. It’s a solid update with nice interface enhancements. I was thrilled to see the addition of the Watchtower function that alerts me to potentially compromised, outdated, and duplicate passwords — a real plus. Even better, the app’s Watchtower can also display which websites offer Two Factor Authentication, which I use wherever I can. Seeing where I can add this to other websites and accounts is very important. Kudos, guys! A feature request I had hoped would make this new update but didn’t was an expansion of categories under which you can organize my passwords, IDs, Serial Numbers, Notes, and other information. This is common in some competing applications, and a couple of competitors also allow users to create custom categories. While the app allows for a wide range of tags, something I also use quite a bit, expanding the variety of Categories would be a real help. I know that software developers can’t fit in every request on a major update, but I hope this will be a priority in the future. Still, the app is my favorite application of its kind. And believe me, I have tried many of them, often with disastrous results. Well done, guys.
