What is Muse Direct?

The Muse app is a platform that allows users to visualize, save, and stream brainwave data with ease. It is compatible with the Muse headband and Smith Lowdown Focus glasses, and provides real-time EEG brain data. 1. Simply connect to your Muse headband or Smith Lowdown Focus glasses to see EEG brain data in real time.

4. You can go to your iTunes Account Settings to manage your subscription and turn off auto-renew.

While the the app SDK and developer tools were always late to market and underperforming, at least they understood the importance of supporting a developer ecosystem. In gutting the few services they had and releasing this paid app, it became clear that profits are way more important than progress. Par for the course, this application also under delivers with the bonus that you pay for the privilege. Perhaps the market is ripe for someone to package these truly cheap sensors in a way that is actually usable beyond some proprietary one-size-fits-all-but-actually-doesn’t meditation helper.

It is ridiculous that you have to pay a subscription just to see the data that your already expensive headband is providing. This should really be included for free with what you pay for the headset. At the absolute most it should be a cheap one time purchase, but it is completely unjustifiable to expect never-ending payment for basic functionality.

It’s like buying a car and then finding out that you must pay more to shift out of first, It’s like paying per use for the results of a voltage tester If I’m buying a product that scans my brain waves wouldn’t I also want the means to view that data without a subscription? It’s part of the product!!!

This Will record all kinds of data, but you can’t visualize that data within the app. You have to log onto a different website, then download a file that’s going to contain a ton of numbers. If you’re not a data scientist, don’t bother.
