iTunes required???

I don’t see any where in the description that iTunes is required to get songs into the ap.
I have thousands of songs that have nothing to do with iTunes.
I want an app that can play my songs.
I don’t need synchronization of any kind.
Let me know if I bought the wrong app.
I will up my rating depending on the response.
