Was trying to use free version and got charged

I was using the free tuner for a ukelele and as I got done with the last string and ton of adds popped up. I attempted to exit each and then exit the app and it was right at the moment the “pay for upgrade” nonsense popped up and I was charged $2.99... feel duped and definitely not satisfied.
