  • Update: useless

    By Box26 (Pcmac user)

I am not a regular listener to podcasts. I only started recently because I’m currently training for my first 1/2 marathon. Listening to the same old music playlist wasn’t cutting as the miles get longer so I thought I’d try audiobooks on my fancy new Apple Watch 3 series. Wrong. I read there is a way but it sounds complicated to set up. Ok. So I’ll try listening to podcasts. Wait...where is the Apple Podcasts app on my watch?! Clearly I’m ignorant in this world. So, I researched a little and came across Workout++. I love the actual workout interface but when it came to the podcast side of things I could never get it to work correctly. Finally I stumbled onto this app. I literally downloaded it, followed the prompts, shared a podcast from Apple Podcasts, waited about 10-15 mins for it to download on my watch and bam! I just finished a long run listening to awesome podcast. Update: My, how we fall! After starting out so well I have now ran into the issue so many others have. I start to download a podcast and after a painfully slow time it reaches 100% and then just goes back to “download”. The app is now useless. Until the bugs are fixed, don’t waste your time.

The download is slow, but that’s not the developers fault. Until Apple fixes their kit, no developer will be able to speed it up. The reason I’m giving it one star is that it only works with some podcasts. When I couldn’t push certain podcasts from the app itself, so I bought the premium version so I could do it from the Podcast app. I (incorrectly) assumed the issue was the app interface and not the podcast itself. However, that’s not the case. For some reason certain podcasts will push to the watch, and others will error before the download even begins. Naturally, these are the popular podcasts. I doubt this is the developer’s issue, but feel like this should have been disclosed in the app description (or at least in the in-app purchase). Save your money and wait until Apple offers their own app.
  • Waste of my hard earned money that my wife makes

    By Getoverit60 (Pcmac user)

Made the mistake of paying for this. Don’t make the same mistake that I and many others have. Save yourself from this app. Run!! Run in the opposite direction! Don’t get sucked into it’s vortex of lies! Spend your $3 on a trendy fanny pack and keep your iPhone in it. Problem solved. Plus all the ladies will notice how savvy you are. At least until cargo shorts come back in style. In all reality DaddyCast should take this app out to the wood shed and straighten him out. But of course MommyCast has problems with this. She coddles this app. Because of this this app will never know the true meaning of the word “work”. So in summary, keep pampering your precious this app and I’ll go buy myself a two zipper, multi-pocket, extra slim belt fanny pack.
  • Waste of money

    By Hapahybrid (Pcmac user)

After days of hunting for a solution, I was so ecstatic to finally find a way to transfer podcasts to my Apple Watch. I reluctantly paid for this app because there really isn’t any other choice at the moment. I was hopeful, but this app is so poorly designed, that it’s really useless. Most of the time, I can’t even get podcasts to download, and when they do (after many attempts), they skip, get stuck, or won’t even play at all. There’s no way to adjust the volume from the app, and it doesn’t save where you left off, so you have to use the 30-second advance button to search the podcast. The “scrubber” button does not work. This app would be amazing if it actually worked.
