Usage and Quality/Bitrate

Nice for a few photos; and, nicely designed to do so, but converting many or a batch, this isn’t the app for that. It would also be nice if the image was replaced in your photo timeline, not have a new HEIF made at the end of Photos that appear as new, with (if you delete the JPEG) an image lost in time. I’d also love if the developer could tell me how they are determining the compression picked in the HEIC in that it will generate an image equal in quality to that of the JPEG. Is there a “smart” bitrate applied to the HEIF (based on analysis of the JPEG) or is it some “standard” bitrate where you can get the savings, but ensure quality (even if it’s at cost to the optimal bitrate being applied to the HEIF?) Quality is paramount to me, and assume to all users of this solution.

The app is dead simple in premise: convert your JPEGs and PNGs to the new high efficiency format Apple is standardizing (HEIC and HEVC), and optionally delete the now-oversized originals, all without losing any noticeable quality. That alone is worth skipping 1 WHOPPING CUP OF COFFEE in order to get you back nearly this app of the space taken up by your photo library. So that's it..... Now the bad stuff: There is no batch editing YET, no burst photo conversion YET, no live photo conversion YET, and no video conversion YET! However, these are all features that will be made available in a future update, and THEN this app becomes worth about TWO WHOPPING CUPS OF COFFEE in my opinion! Long-short: buy this app to save you space, data, and time IF you don't have a Mac to convert your photo library with.
Great at batch conversion to heic

I like that I can batch convert images on my iOS devices with this app. I think it would be five stars if it didn’t skip images because of size and it needs to keep all the metadata. People spend a lot of time cataloging and adding this data to their pictures and it should be preserved when converted to the new heic format. To be fair, other image converter apps strip the metadata. If these two items were fixed this would be the best app for me. I did purchase the in app upgrade for batch capabilities in hopes of a quick update.

I had to pay $3 for an app that promised to bring support for both selecting multiple photos, and videos. For that price I figured it would come pretty fast, but this is not the case. Batch photos took a while and videos still aren’t here yet. Not to mention the app has many errors and still shows photos already in HEIC, making it impossible to just select all, since some are already converted. And also if I want to use the batch feature I have to pay an extra $5???? What?? Why is it so expensive if I already payed for the app. If your going to charge so much for such a simple app than at least make the updates fast and get rid of the annoying bugs. I payed $3 for nothing because I’m not going to pay more money for batch and eventually even more for video. Ridiculous 🙄
