Install Write It! Japanese app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Write It! Japanese on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Write It! Japanese"
The search will reveal the Write It! Japanese app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Write It! Japanese is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Write It! Japanese.

✔ Pros:

- Best app for learning both hiragana and katakana without having to pay for extra features

- Audio-only feature helps with fluency and avoiding romanji

- Handwriting input works well and helps with learning to write the kana

- Worth the money for ad-free experience and review

☹ Cons:

- Could benefit from a general quiz that includes all kana without grouping them into sections

- Could use a few more sections for lookalike kana to help differentiate

- Would be helpful to have a 2x2 grid while writing to learn stroke positioning

- Pronunciation at the top can sometimes be cut off, making it hard to see what character to write

Great for Learning to Write

And writing helps you learn the read. You’ll have to pay to remove the ads, but it’s well worth it. This will take you through the shapes of all the Kana, it’s easy to use, and the handwriting input works surprisingly well. I wish there was a way to show a 2x2 grid while writing, to make it easier to learn to position the strokes correctly.

I've tried many different apps to learn Japanese, and this one by far is the best one to learn BOTH hiragana and katakana. Many other apps make you pay for katakana or extra features. That being said, there are only a couple things I can think of to enhance this app even more: - a general quiz that includes all kana without them being grouped into sections of ~5 at a time - a couple more sections for the lookalike kana to help differentiate...ie はほま、クケヌ、シソツノ、アマ, etc Thank you developers!! ありがとうございます！

Very good app for learning, definitely worth the money for review and no ads. The only thing keeping it from being a 5 star is that sometimes the pronunciation (“ha”, “ba”, “pa”, etc.) at the top is cut off and it can be hard to see what character you’re supposed to the app. Other than that, works perfectly!

This app is the best for learning all of the kana! I also really like the audio only feature because I am going for fluency and I don’t want to have to use romanji. Great app!
