  • It’s ok, not great

    By gjkiy4g (Pcmac user)

Half of the questions that are asked in this app by the time you get to them are not covered in the previous material you just go over. Also, when you miss a questions the explanations are not well written and most of the time are very hard to digest. A lot of acronyms are used without any explanation as to what they are unless you already have a working knowledge of weather. For $50, the explanations should have been written in far better laymen’s terms to be understandable. Also, in the very beginning before even purchasing this application I sent a question to the developer of the app and specifically mentioned “ground school” and Ed sent me an email back saying he didn’t know what application I was referring to. I replied that they only have one application that they have developed that has the words ground school in it and asked if he was going to answer my question. I never received a reply. Shame on me for going ahead and purchasing the app especially after being brushed off by their “support”. Look for another app unless you already have a working knowledge of weather and flight terminology.
  • Awesome Test Prep Guide

There are some $5 apps that are ok, but they have the same exact questions and answers. This was my main study guide that actually teaches you the concepts you need to pass the test....And it's constantly updated. I mainly used this to study and understand the airspace and weather charts. Took many quizzes on this app. Total study time was 1 week, took the test and passed. Most of the questions you see floating around the web were not on my test. Out of the 500+ questions I've seen online and even that 3DR sample test, mine only had 6 identical questions. Apparently the FAA is like Google and sees what questions are out there, and has justly modified the questions in order to make sure pilots understand that material. Long story Long... Lol, trying to memorize answers online only, will almost guarantee NOT passing. This app will teach you and you will pass the test of you go through the entire course

I'm a new UAS owner. I've had a Mavic about two weeks. Last Tuesday afternoon I decided I wanted to get part 107 certified. I got this app and started going through the lessons. I did lessons in the morning, worked at my job all day Wednesday but went thru the lessons during breaks and on my lunch break. Had other obligations Wednesday evening. Worked on it some more Thursday morning. Called the nearest training center and they said I could take the test that Thursday afternoon at 1:30pm. Finished all but the last two lessons. Drove 110 miles to nearest test center. Got a 90%. It took about 90 minutes, including signing in, paying and testing, and I was home by 4:30pm. Submitted my IACRA application online on Saturday Morning. It's pending. I was not a pilot and haven't taken any tests in 15 to 20 years. No complaints here, though if I'd finished the last two sections I probably would have gotten a better score. Good app.
  • Passed with a 98!

Brand new drone pilot. This app was suggested by someone else at my company who was also required to get licensed. I spent about 2 weeks using the app for an hour or two each day. A lot of the questions on the exam were similar to if not identical to the questions in this app. Highly recommended if you want a guided study format and don't want to spend a ton of time combing through the dozens of books the FAA has on their study list.
