Software Features and Description

1. While it is possible to learn the material tested on the exam by "getting the answers wrong," and memorizing the correct answer, if you are new to drone flying, we recommend our Remote Pilot Ground School app, which includes a complete course covering every area tested on the exam.

2. This app will prepare you for the FAA drone exam by testing your knowledge with over 500 questions, including actual FAA questions and questions covering all of the new regulations that take effect April 21, 2021.

3. Beginning April 21, 2021, FAA-certified remote pilots are not required to take a recurrent exam every 2 years to continue exercising their privileges, and instead must complete a recurrent training course on the FAA website.

4. Know when you are ready for the drone exam when most questions reach the highest mastery level.

5. Use Exam Mode to take simulated FAA drone exams administered in a timed environment under the same rules as the real FAA drone exam.

6. Our test prep and training courses are the key to success on the FAA drone exam.

7. We use the actual figures in the FAA's knowledge test supplement for the remote pilot exam.

8. Drone subject matter is categorized into discrete topics, enabling focused study sessions and better insight into weak areas.

9. FlightReady has trained tens of thousands of drone pilots, and offers the most complete drone subject matter coverage.

10. Filters allow you to include or exclude questions based on mastery and other question characteristics.

11. Gauge your progress and readiness to take the drone exam.

  • Great Tool But You Still Must Learn

    By J-inPA (Pcmac user)

I passed the FAA test with a 98 today. This app covered all the concepts except 1 (which I guessed and missed, and nothing I used covered it). If you are scoring high on this app over 5 to 10 exams and to the point where you are acing it in under 30 minutes, then you are almost ready to go crush the test. Keep studying the various guides on all the cloud types and implications. Spend extra time studying the test supplement sectionals and look for places where work at different heights and towers might put you into controlled airspace. Don’t expect a great number of questions to be the exact same, but they will be the same concepts. This app is great at grooving your swing, but you MUST understand and be able to explain to yourself WHY you got a question right or wrong. DO NOT go into your FAA test with this or any app expecting to memorize answer and hoping to see lots of the exact same questions. This app is great at showing you what to learn, but you still have to do the learning.
  • Worth the money!

    By Ihrke015 (Pcmac user)

I can't say enough about this app! If you're hesitant to spend money on it, keep in mind it might save you $150 and a retest. For the record I have no previous experience with aeronautical information and most was extremely confusing at first. Before getting this app I studied the online pdfs but had a hard time making sense of it all (it's a lot to take in!) but when I finally felt confident I took a practice test and realized I was far from ready. I decided to purchase this app and started taking simulated tests almost everyday and using the study materials provided with the app in between when I had time. In about 1 month I went from averaging 65% on the practice tests to averaging 95%. Today I took the test and only missed 7 questions. Out of these 7, most I had tagged on the exam and simply wasn't sure of the answer. Almost all of the answers I got correct I answered confidently and had no second thoughts on at all. Some questions were almost word for word from this app and almost all were formatted identically to ones I had seen before. I have no experience with the other apps that are available but if you are serious about spending $150 on the test I highly recommend considering this app!
  • Scored a 95!

    By Pilot42112 (Pcmac user)

I used only this app and took the exam the second day it was available nationwide, so I was a little hesitant given that no one really knew what would be on it. The test had many questions similar and sometimes identical to those on the app. There was very little I saw on the exam that I didn't already see on the app. The only suggestion I have is to prepare to apply the knowledge you learn from studying or the app to real life scenarios. For example, some questions ask about flying in a particular area with obstacles, and what airspace would you be in if you had to clear the obstacle. Sometimes flying over the top puts you in controlled airspace, sometimes it doesn't.
  • Superbly design study app

    By Rwatson58 (Pcmac user)

Just passed my exam last Thursday. I find the most helpful aid in this app is the "show explanation". Let's face it, unless you are a pilot or serious aviation buff, interpreting sectional charts, reading abbreviated weather data and calculating wing load is just not something that comes naturally. I have compared this app with some of my friends' (some costing over $200) and went with this one. This app does an excellent job presenting the material, point out your weaknesses and presents a good simulated test. Over 90% of the study material out on the test! So if you just master the study material, technically you should be able to pass. Bravo to the designer and programmer.
