  • Stopped promoting to save new data since latest update.

    By DBAGuy (Pcmac user)

I have been a satisfied user of this app. But the latest version (5 days ago at this time) broke the ability to save new readings. I've unbound and rebinded the scale to the app. The first reading after this does get stored. Subsequent readings show in the app but no prompt to save and after a timeout the prior reading (the one that had successfully saved) is the latest displayed in the app. I don't want to have to repeat the unbind and rebind, but that seems to be the only solution. Hope the developer can provide a quick fix.
  • Dangerous

    By mbls3 (Pcmac user)

Now overall this scale and corresponding app are accurate in weight numbers compared to other scales I’ve been on like at the doctors office. But I find this app could be very detrimental to a person who could be at risk for an eating disorder. I myself am very comfortable at my weight and know that it is a healthy weight for me but the app yells at me that I’m at a dangerous/excessive weight which is insane seeing as I’m 135lbs(5’2” is my height) like yea it wouldn’t hurt to say lose 5 more pounds but even at 129 over the summer it still was giving me the concerned warnings. Scales and apps like this should be encouraging people in a more positive way especially if they are already at a low weight. The language used could be detrimental to someone’s mental health.
  • Great potential

    By Hoppyjack (Pcmac user)

Pro this app. Effectively connects and communicates with the weight scale. 2. Records and displays a great deal of information (probably more than most users want) relayed from the 1byOne scale to Apple Health. Opportunities A. Out of step graphical interface. Many heath related apps (BP, Sugar Sense for example) could serve as examples of a better interface. B. Items reported use a yellow "sunburst" positioned along the continuum; Are they meant to be indicators of current user status? That's probably what they are but what the sunburst represents isn't explained. C. Are four ways to express body fat really beneficial or is that overkill and confusing? BMI, Visceral Fat, BMR and Muscle Mass are circling the same issue I think. D. All data us apparently stored in the phone. 1byOne has a tremendous opportunity to improve by incorporating backup to iCloud and link the account across multiple devices. If there are any hopes to lock in a place in the online healthcare business, this must happen.
  • Binding scale instructions unclear

    By Mju 2356789 (Pcmac user)

It seems that the ‘bind scale’ function is working, but not the way it is perceived to be. The layout makes it seem like the scale is supposed to be turned on but with no one standing on it in order for it to bind. This isn’t the case. You have to stand on the scale in order for it to sync back to your device after the recent app update. As an recommendation to the developer, I would recommend making the instructions clearer. Specifically say, “In order to bind scale to device, please stand on the scale.”, or something like that. It would help greatly!
