What is MEGA MAN 4? The app is a mobile game called Mega Man 4, which is the fourth chapter in the Mega Man saga. The game is set one year after Mega Man's battle in space, where he restored peace to humanity's mining worlds. However, the world is once again thrown into turmoil as eight cities are overthrown by rampaging robots. Mega Man sets forth to take down this threat, equipped with the new Mega Buster. The game features optimized gameplay and difficulty for smartphones, with certain elements differing from the original game.

Game Features and Description

1. Auto: Hold the attack button for rapid-fire Mega Buster shots.

2. Manual: Each press of the attack button fires one Mega Buster shot.

3. After restoring peace to humanity's perilous mining worlds, Mega Man has enjoyed a brief year of respite.

4. Mega Man 4 was the first game to feature the chargeable Mega Buster.

5. The continue screen is displayed whenever Mega Man dies.

6. Set to "On" to have your device vibrate when Mega Man takes damage.

7. Change position of the in-game attack button and jump button.

8. Note: This option will not be displayed on devices with no vibration function.

10. This version features a choice of two difficulty modes.

MEGA MAN 4 MOBILE functions

- The "Mega Buster" is a new feature in the game, which is a chargeable arm cannon that can be devastating when released.

- Sliding controls allow players to hold down + jump to slide, which can be used to move quickly, dodge attacks, and fit through narrow spaces.

- The game features two difficulty modes: Normal Mode with unlimited continues and checkpoints, and Hard Mode with limited continues, more damage from enemy attacks, and fewer checkpoints.

- In-game settings can be adjusted, including sound volume, vibration, attack mode (auto or manual), gameplay speed, and key configuration.

✔ Pros:

- Regenerated health meter after each boss and infinite continues

- Addictive gameplay, especially after the Boss rush

- Enjoyable overall experience

☹ Cons:

- Lag and sluggish performance

- Difficult controls, especially the D-pad on the iPad version

No controller support

I don't understand why this game doesn't have controller support, especially considering version 1 came out less than a year ago. The D-pad on the iPad version is way too big, and the action buttons are too far spaced out to use efficiently. You can switch button configurations, but there are no other options beyond that. The game also uses no touch-optimized controls even when they would make sense (choosing a level, options menu, etc) further confounding why there is no controller support. In addition, the game runs very sluggishly, skipping frames often and feeling very "floaty" on the so-called normal speed. At first I thought this was to give the game more of an authentic 80s console experience, but it was definitely never this bad. In short, this is an incredibly lazy port of a great classic game. Kind of a shame, and I hope they update it to fix these problems (but I don't have my hopes up since this is Capcom we are talking about and the game is like $1, hardly on the top of their priority list).

First off the app Man IV is and had always been somewhat on the difficult side. The controls are difficult and sometimes you jump or slide when you hit the “fire” button, small but annoying bugs. BUT there are many compromises. In the teleport hatches (and after every stage) you get your health meter regenerated after each boss (+) have infinite continues (+) and yes the Robot Bosses are psychotically difficult (-) with crazy attack patterns (-). I am addicted, especially after the Boss rush. This is literally the only game I can’t blow through 3-4 rounds (actually my record is 8-9 bosses in a row). It’s almost like it’s own game in a way and not just a port.

This. Game. Is. Trash. I feel robbed! First, you nerfed the bosses to do as much damage as the stompers in mm1 which do like a quarter of your health each. Next, there's the fact that UNFAIR JUMPS ARE PLENTIFUL. Dive Man- oops the spikes were a Pixel lower than I thought I'm ded. Toad man- the rain that only affects you while your jumping which might not seem bad but to get to the non-rain sewer you need to PLATFORM and the jump towards the second snail has DEATH PITS!!! I overall want to rate half a star. This is the worst the app man game I've played.

As far as cons go, some people complained about lag but I didn't notice it much. The controls are a bit hard to get used to, but I beat the game on hard so they are learnable. Very enjoyable, I really wish there were more such games on the App Store. Also PLEASE release the the game boy the app man games and/or MM9 and 10! I would definitely be willing to pay two dollars apiece. Many thanks for releasing these and I hope you keep them coming. Soli Deo Gloria!
