What is MEGA MAN?

The Mega Man app is a classic platformer game that was originally released in the year 1987. The game is set in the year 200X, where six robots created by Dr. Light are tampered with by Dr. Wily, and go on a destructive rampage. The player takes on the role of Mega Man, the only robot who can stop Dr. Wily's plans and restore world peace. The app has been optimized for smartphones, and certain elements have been modified to suit the platform.

Game Features and Description

1. Manual: Each press of the attack button fires one Mega Buster shot.

2. Auto: Hold the attack button for rapid-fire Mega Buster shots.

3. Only one robot remains who can put a stop to Wily’s plans and restore world peace: the heroic Mega Man.

4. To access the Magnet Beam, you’ll need to defeat Guts Man and get his weapon, or defeat Elec Man and play through the stage again with his weapon.

5. Change position of the in-game attack button and jump button.

6. The continue screen is displayed whenever Mega Man dies.

7. Set to "On" to have your device vibrate when Mega Man takes damage.

8. Note: This option will not be displayed on devices with no vibration function.

9. In the year 200X, six robots created by master roboticist Dr.

10. the weapons from your enemies, then using them to exploit weaknesses in the bad guys yet to come.

Not so great

Okay, there are a few things wrong with this. First, let me point out one of the more annoying things: the controls. The d-pad is alright, but hard to get used to. The jump and shoot buttons, however, are not so great. For one, the shoot button is above the jump button, making it harder to reach. I believe that it’s necessary to have both the buttons within reach of the thumb so that it’s easier to play. This is just a personal gripe, but what’s the point of the high and turbo speed buttons? To me, it doesn’t really add anything to the gameplay and just makes it easier to die. Speaking of, when you die, it’s an instant game over. Why don’t they start you with 2 lives like normal? The gameplay aside from the controls is very laggy, but that’s about it. Other than that, it’s just this app ported to IOS, but I felt, if they were going to port this app, they could’ve done better than that. Since this app Legacy Collection 2 is coming out soon, I want to suggest that they don’t port it to IOS unless these stated problems are fixed.
No controller support

I don't understand why this game doesn't have controller support, especially considering version 1 came out less than a year ago. The D-pad on the iPad version is way too big, and the action buttons are too far spaced out to use efficiently. You can switch button configurations, but there are no other options beyond that. The game also uses no touch-optimized controls even when they would make sense (choosing a level, options menu, etc) further confounding why there is no controller support. In addition, the game runs very sluggishly, skipping frames often and feeling very "floaty" on the so-called normal speed. At first I thought this was to give the game more of an authentic 80s console experience, but it was definitely never this bad. In short, this is an incredibly lazy port of a great classic game. Kind of a shame, and I hope they update it to fix these problems (but I don't have my hopes up since this is Capcom we are talking about and the game is like $1, hardly on the top of their priority list).

I like how you added MegaMan for mobile, but it seems rushed in a way. One way to make this better is the ability to customize the size and placement of the buttons and the d-pad. Another way is to make it a bit faster, I can't even imagine how many times I failed during GutsMan's stage because of how slow it is. Sure there's an option to change the speed but I change it a little bit and it's a bit too fast. To fix this just add some options to range from slow to fast. And this feels as though I'm playing a flash game. Maybe you should fix the animations a bit. Another thing you should fix is the fact that you have infinite lives, it kinda removes the difficulty of MegaMan by a long shot. Who knows, maybe an update would come along... it probably won't...

The Megaman Mobile series isn’t as bad as it might seem (if you aren’t bothered by frame rate). The games may have not as good frame rate, and some people might be disappointed with the infinite lives thing, but if you can get past that, it’s a solid port. I enjoy the Boss Rush Mode. Getting to fight all the Robot Masters without stages is fun for me. I enjoy boss rushes. The speeds are cool, if you want to be this app, Slightly Faster this app, or Quick Man with a this app skin. Overall, the games are a bit above average at least. Getting to take this app 3 (and the other games of course) anywhere was something I was excited about.
