  • The little things make an enjoyable job tedious!

    By mariahjenae9922 (Pcmac user)

Driving for the app has been a good experience for me overall as it’s enabled me to make better financial decisions and be really flexible with school and dance (I drive in the Arlington market which works different than the others). My biggest gripe on the ViaBlue side besides the subpar GPS system is how much dang noise the app makes. Especially since the recent update, it dings randomly when nothing is going on. It dings when it wants me to “in 100 feet turn right” when I’m very much still driving straight for another 3 miles. Honestly, all the stupid noises would be somewhat bearable if it didn’t COMPLETELY shut off any other noises your phone is making while driving. The job is made that much worse when I can’t listen to my own music in the car because every single time I make a turn, come to a location stop, or even when I’m not doing anything at all, the music completely turns off. The simplest improvement would be making these dumb alerts only INTERRUPT music functions, instead of completely HALTING them. It’s also INCREDIBLY data and battery heavy, and I can’t listen to those “helpful” dings if my phone has to stay plugged in but ultimately sounded off by the radio because the dings are insufferable and loud. And I refuse to drive in a dead silent car.
  • Horrible navigation

    By Simonleaksa (Pcmac user)

I’ve been driving with the app for well over a month now. It pays great and all but I wouldn’t recommend driving for them at all. The app is absolutely terrible when it comes to the navigation. I’ve missed many exits and places I need to go to because of this stupid navigation. I’ve had angry passengers and the commute time going up 10 minutes more because of Vias antiquated navigation system. Why not have the option to use Waze all the time? It often switches to Waze when you’re driving in Brooklyn and when it does that it’s perfect to use. I have stopped driving for the app and went with Lyft because I never run into issues with navigation because they use google maps. Less stress and less hassle. And sometimes this stupid app crashes and freezes. Takes too long to reroute destinations and switches drop off locations last minute. Just drive for another app until they fix their app
  • Could be better.

    By Hziahhb (Pcmac user)

I’ve had an, overall, pretty average experience with the app so far. As far as alerts and promotions go, I’m content. the app is on the money, and I find myself in the best position to make a decent earning on a daily basis. What disappoints me, however, is the app’s sub-par GPS that I’m forced to depend on. the app’s GPS doesn’t provide any information about turning lanes, or any lanes for that matter, and it can make the driving experience quite exhausting. I suggest you improve the app itself, or provide drivers with an option to use other GPS. The app doesn’t provide any. Also, I find it difficult to keep accurate track of my daily earnings on the app. That’s because it counts any earnings made after 12AM as earnings made on the next day. As a driver who takes a lot of late-night trips, it can get extremely tedious.
  • Worst app and driver support

    By Akash.P (Pcmac user)

Every body is talking about the app and navigation system but nobody notice their worst payment system. In blue mode they won’t give you more than the hourly rate even if you make more than that. And now the worst part is their flex mode which was good before. Now they add guaranteed fare in every flex trip. Because of that now drivers are making 20% less than before the guaranteed fare. For example, before for a 20miles trip drivers were making $40-$42 after the app’s 20% fee. Now for the same trip drivers are making $32-$34 after the 20% fee. the app has a worst app ever. Need more work on the app. Always make sound in navigation which is annoying. Very bad driver support. Trying to contact with the app support team about missing toll for a long time. Still no response. Each time I call they say an agent will be with me shortly but after couple of minutes they hang up.
