Nice features; poor primary functionality

Folder-wide search and auto-scroll to bottom are solid features. But the main point of this app, especially the premium version - I.e. automatic synchronization with a Dropbox folder - works about 1/10th of the time. Often you have to manually tell it to sync, and that works only about one-third of the time. Usually, I have to unlink/relink to Dropbox to get a sync going. This takes minutes to accomplish tasks that should take just seconds. This app requires unacceptable workarounds and should not be purchased until those are fixed. Sadly, I still cannot find an app that is any better, so I’m still using this one and synchronizing like I’m using a Palm Pilot. TWO-YEAR UPDATE: I’m upgrading to three stars, not because problems have been fixed, but because there still seem to be no better alternatives. I’m not sure how the now-defunct PlainText managed to maintain synchronization with Dropbox and to update in the background, but it did. That is the primary reason I use an app like the app+, and yet it is still not fully implemented. I would gladly lay down another $5 for an app that did this reliably, even a the app 2.
Reliable sync works with free version but not with aid version

While sync does work occasionally, especially if you create the note in the app, sync does not work reliable if the text file was generated on the Mac. You need to initiate a sync manually. Furthermore, and that’s a rip off for $4.99, this app does not allow you to navigate between folders in a modern way in the sense that the folders slide left if you go in. The 99 cents app “Caret” does this with excellence, including a robust automated sync. I will go through the process tomorrow and claim my money back: log into my store account, navigate to the app, click on More, then Report a problem. While I will get my 5 bucks back I did lose time, gained experience in sloppy development and generated a long review. Thanks for reading. Beware. BTW, Dropbox app allows you to sync and edit text files too...

I really like how the files are just simple text, yet they also support inline styles through markdown. Most editors that support markdown make you use a preview function to see what it is going to look like. And I love how it connects to Dropbox and doesn't force you to use their own service.
