What is CTCAE plus?
The CTCAE Plus app is a medical app that supports multiple versions of the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE) and provides features such as flagging, searching, and note-taking. The app has three versions: Standard, Plus, and Premium, with the latter two offering additional features through in-app purchases.
1. Search and highlight multiple strings across terms, grades, and definitions in a primary version.
2. Add multiple tags to a single AE term in each CTCAE version.
3. Based on Term Mapping information, Flags will be taken over from one CTCAE version to another.
4. Grade scoring is available on each tagged adverse event in the window.
5. Show the search result with the matching text highlighted across terms, grades, and definitions.
6. Once you purchase a PREMIUM/PLUS Pack, you can upgrade and restore CTCAE plus on multiple iOS devices you own — as long as they all use the same Apple ID.
7. Tap a tile icon to open the Tile Chart window to review the tag-bundled events.
8. Report the tagged items through AirPrint, PDF export, Text export, and QR codes.
9. Review the tagged AE items in the Review window.
10. Grading Scale Bars in color or gray help to monitor severity without opening the Detail Window.
11. You can back up the settings of Flags, Tags, My Notes, and Archives and also recover them.

- Multiple CTCAE versions: The app supports CTCAE versions 5.0, 4.03, and 3.0.
- Flagging: Users can toggle a flag on and off by pulling on a listed event to the right or tapping on a flag.
- Searching: The app can show search results with matching text highlighted across terms, grades, and definitions.
- Flag+ (Plus and Premium): Based on Term Mapping information, flags can be taken over from one CTCAE version to another.
- Search+ (Plus and Premium): Users can search and highlight multiple strings across terms, grades, and definitions in a primary version. Optionally, a 6-color highlight is available.
- Diff Checker (Plus and Premium): Users can find differences between two versions with text highlighted in a window.
- My Note (Plus and Premium): Users can take notes that are searchable and can be taken over from one CTCAE version to another.
- Mapping Info (Plus and Premium): Visualized Mapping Info can help data conversion from one to another version (e.g. from CTCAE v4.03 to CTCAE v5.0).
- Grade+ (Premium only): A numeric grade can be assigned to each tagged AE term. Grading Scale Bars in color or gray help to monitor severity without opening the Detail Window.
- Search Assistant (Premium only): The app suggests exploring several sets of related AEs in addition to AND/OR search.
- Tag (Premium only): Users can add multiple tags to a single AE term in each CTCAE version. Flagged events can be tagged at once. The tagged events are printable and exportable. Auto Tag Suggestion helps to choose one of the tags previously generated in other AEs.
- Tile Chart with Tag Bundle (Premium only): The tags containing separator(s) (@ or/and #) can be bundled with the string before the separator. Users can tap a tile icon to open the Tile Chart window to review the tag-bundled events.
- Calendar (Premium only): Users can tap a calendar icon to create an AE info event in Calendar.app.
- Review (Premium only): Users can review the tagged AE items in the Review window. Grade scoring is available on each tagged adverse event in the window.
- Archive (Premium only): Users can archive and restore flags and tags with AE scores. iCloud Sync helps to backup archival data, copy it between devices, and restore it.
- Print and Export (Premium only): Users can report the tagged items through AirPrint, PDF export, Text export, and QR codes.
- Backup and Recovery (Premium only): Users can back up the settings of flags, tags, My Notes, and Archives and also recover them.
