GREAT Replacement for my old and aging MenuCalendarClock
By TEKnight (Pcmac user)
Thanks so much for a VERY nice super simple Menu Calendar. I also love the few features that make it really practical, too (like the ability to jump forwards or backwards years or months at a time with having to hit Forward and Backward buttons like an Atari Game Console Fire button)! ;-)
This is exactly what I was looking for to replace my old and aging, but beloved MenuCalendarClock from the old Objectpark folks (old 2012 app that had started to get slower and slower, spinning Beach Ball since El Capitan). :-)
So now that the Sunrise and Sunset item is all super cool now with a regular 12 hour AM/PM clock…
Now I’ve only got one thing I’d still love to see changed...
A) This is purely a personal ticky tack thing…but it would nice if three (3) Options could be selected at the same time ‘Calendar Icon’, 'Digital Clock > Display Date and Time’ and also chehck the ’Show the day of the week'. So that the date would be in the cool lil’ ‘Calendar Icon’ like [9] Mon 1:09 PM Date. So again I realize a person could get pretty close if using a combination of System Preferences.. Date & Time and this app, but the the “target / clickable’ area is a much smaller area than if this app would display it all. Plus, really I do not need to see the Month. If that makes sense?
Thanks so much again for a GREAT lil’ App!!!

It's good but...
By uggghhhh12 (Pcmac user)
It's a nice little app, the graphics are light and subtle which is nice, rather something bold a glaring. I like that it can be displayed on the desktop. One thing I would like that it doesn’t do, is to bring the desktop calendar to the front above other windows when it is clicked on or hovered over, as is it just sits on the background and I have to minimize other windows to see it. There is the option to keep it on top but that presents its own issues. Depending on where the calendar is placed on the screen, if it is always on top clicking on anything behind the calendar is impossible, and having to move it everytime you need to get to something behind the calendar can get annoying quick. Though I like it for its simplicity, ultimately it is a cute little digital replacement for a wall calendar, with additional options for time, with no functionality or intergration with the macOS calendar app what so ever. Unfortunately, for me, as cute as it is and as much as I like its clean and subtle look and the fact that it is free is a big bonus, but its lack of intergration with the OS calendar app makes it impossible for me to choose it over the other app I already have for this purpose.

Simple but so important.
By Fernau Family (Pcmac user)
Coming from Windows, the one thing that I missed was a popup minicalendar. I wouldn’t have thought it was a big deal, but there are just times you want to know what date a particular day falls on or vice-versa. For all of Window’s shortcomings, the little calendar widget was always there, and I didn’t realize how often I used it until it wasn’t there anymore. I couldn’t believe that OSX didn’t have one. I searched the app store and found this. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. My only issue with it was that the desktop calendar would randomly show up, and I would have to go into preferences and enable it and disable it to make it go away. The other day I noticed that there was an update, and it was to fix that very issue. So far it seems to be fixed. I couldn’t be happier with it.

Good, functional solution to Apple’s poor design
By Lorianneo (Pcmac user)
The the app-calendar is a good, functional solution to Apple’s lack of foresight on users’ frequent need to quickly access a monthly calendar. For this app, I like that the current month’s calendar can be displayed in full on the desktop, and the transparency adjusted to one’s liking. I do not like that an extended calendar view is available only by clicking on the tool bar icon. The desktop display shows current month only, with no function to scroll to next months. In summary, it is rediculous that Apple intentionally did not include a tool bar accessed calendar (one point for Windows’). The calendar in the ‘deck’ is not as convenient as clicking on today’s date to see the monthly calendar, or to scroll to other months. The app helps with this issue for the most part, with the exception that the desktop display should allow for scrolling to past and future months. This app is the best option to a poor design.
