  • All progress means change

    By ellielk (Pcmac user)

But, not all change is progress and that is proven by the latest so-called updates to this app. I figured I'd eventually become used to and familiar with the changes but two are just annoying. First, how do I get rid of the constantly scrolling 'Latest News' on the left side of the screen. There used to be an X and then the word 'Hide' that let me remove it but those are no longer available. Second, there is no longer a menu (that I have found) to jump from one section of the paper to another. Now, there's just the pop-up scroll at the bottom of the screen. Again, all progress means change but not all change means progress.
  • Well... I DO like the E Edition

    By Mb1818714 (Pcmac user)

It appears most bad reviews are several months old - I’ve enjoyed the “paper experience” using the e-edition for several years. Maybe I did something right that others did wrong? The method I use is nearly perfect in duplicating he experience of reading the real paper. While there are a couple things I’d like to see improve - the wild negative reviews elsewhere to be from folks that just don’t know how to install an app correctly. Sorry all, just the way it works for me.
  • New app stinks

    By BizzieBoy (Pcmac user)

The update e-edition app is a joke and a major downgrade from the previous version. Downloading the content or going to back to look at previous issues from the last week is not possible. Now you have to log in every time you start the app is is a total pain. Worse yet is that there is zero customer support for the e-edition. There is no way to get a human being on the customer service line and they do not return emails. I have subscribed to the Dispatch for 30 years but about ready to cancel. Frankly the content has gone downhill as well since the Wolfe family sold the paper. Just a cut and paste regurgitation of fake news from the NY Tiemes and Washington Post.... Sad!!!
  • Worst yet

    By RowD2 (Pcmac user)

Well, the Dispatch decided to tweak its already-bad software and has handed its loyal digital subscribers the worst version yet. Logging in every morning is a chore: first, get login page. No, despite what you check, it never remembers you from the prior day. Next, put the cursor on name and start typing. The cursor inexplicably jumps to password, so delete and start over. Once you get that name and password in, you’re rewarded with a frozen screen replica of the paper. By trial and error the easiest thing to do is to swipe the page closed and reopen. Once you do, you at least have a paper you can struggle with reading. This app is unbelievably bad in this day and age.
