  • Cute idea, needs work.

    By PaperSwan (Pcmac user)

I love the idea of taking a picture with every watering and turning them into a progress video. However the app needs more flexibility built in. The app doesn’t have access to my camera so when I take a picture at watering time it doesn’t add it to my camera roll. I can see some people might not like to fill their camera roll with plant pictures but it should be an option. Also there is no way to load a photo not taken with the app. Those are trivial, but the real issue I have is that my plants really can’t live on a strict watering schedule. It’s nice to have the reminder to check my plant but sometimes it needs watering earlier or later than scheduled and I can’t water earlier without having to change each plant’s schedule. I should be able to water any time and just use the schedule as a reminder, not a restriction. It would also be nice to have a notation of the last date the plant was watered to track patterns for each plant based on the current weather conditions etc that might necessitate changes to the overall schedule.
  • It Could Be Great

    By Ntrikate (Pcmac user)

The version of this app I have doesn’t have the features that is shown on the developer website. If I want to see when one of my plants needs to be watered, it just says “water me in 7 days” even if it’s the day before and shows the time of day I originally watered them (???). I was under the impression there would be a watering schedule, but there is no schedule. Basically, on a watering day it just shows all the plants that need to be watered....so unless you keep track elsewhere you don’t know when the plants need to be watered ahead of time. This can’t be how the app works, I’ve written to the developers but no response about it. One suggestion is if a plant looks particularly parched we should be able to do an “emergency watering” and choose to water immediately rather than waiting for it to finally appear in the “schedule” But the app is adorable and I love the plant selfies and I love being able see them all in one place to keep track and give them names. I like that I can (potentially?) keep reminders of when they need to be watered.
  • Great potential!

    By ViviLa11 (Pcmac user)

I love the idea for the app. I’ve paid for the upgraded version. Would like to know how much longer until each plant needs to be watered instead of just how many days it needs in between watering. Maybe a calendar with markings for each plant’s schedule. And also when the next watering is for each plant in their profile. I think it would also be useful if we could sort our plants different. For example by age (how long we’ve had it logged). The “time needs to be watered” down to the minute is kind of unnecessary for me. I usually water the same time each day and I’m a firm believer in that it doesn’t matter when you water your plants. More useful info would be time until next watering.
  • I can now keep my plants alive!!

    By Sassycatlexy (Pcmac user)

This little app is so handy and I don't think I'd have a single plant alive, let alone 6, without this app. I don't have a prominent green thumb, but I love having plants around in my apartment. I've never been able to keep them alive until I got this app about 7 months ago. I generally keep succulents and cacti, I love that they are not high maintenance, but I've always either under-watered or over-watered them. Since they don't need to be watered every day, I would forget when the last time was and just watered them sometimes too soon or too late. So this app keeps me on top of when I need to ACTUALLY water them and, *bonus* I love that I can take pictures each time and see the progress of them over time!!
