Install SlowBar app on your Windows in 4 steps below:
- Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .
- Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.
- Using SlowBar on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:
- Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "SlowBar"
- The search will reveal the SlowBar app icon. Open, then click "Install".
- Once SlowBar is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including SlowBar.
- Now enjoy SlowBar on PC.

For Windows 11, check if there's a native SlowBar Windows app here » ». If none, follow the steps below:
- To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.
- To use SlowBar,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "SlowBar" » then Click "Install".
- SlowBar will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Nice, Simple, Compact

The app covers all of the major small portion methods and provides straightforward recipes. No up sell or marketing. Allowing calculation of larger servings would be nice but these are supposedly individual serving recipes from coffee professionals, so no real argument. I’d score a 5 if I wasn’t such a hardass.

This is EXACTLY what I've been hoping to find! I am a pharmacist, so I appreciate having ratios provided, and the weights of coffee & water in grams. I brew using an instant-read thermometer, and have a burr grinder. A friend and I cup a couple of new beans once a week, and I have always brewed "secundum artem", but now it'll be a true comparison with this app. Love the timer with increments! This is a game-changer, taking it all to a new and consistent level.

Locked ratios and terrible chemex recipe

I’ve been using the intelligentsia app for about 2 years. I thought I might change things up and see what else was out there. This app has locked in recipes... so you are out of luck if you want to make more or less coffee at the same ratio.
Worst of all I just ruined 45 grams of coffee with their chemex recipe. It’s like tea.
The app is low on features and the coffee recipe is terrible. I would chalk it up to “you get what you pay for... and it’s free”, but the intelligentsia app is free as well and it’s great. Headed back to my old app.

Pretty but lacking functionality.

This app looks and feels great. However, there's seemingly no way to customize the brews. For example. I prefer a 17.3:1 ratio for my chemex instead of the 16.7:1 ratio used by the app. I also like to brew a total of around 780g of coffee because I make it for myself and my wife in the large chemex. This app does not let me customize the recipes to my needs, so I can't use it. If the user could adjust these parameters, it would be a perfect app.
