It does the job you can say
By lex.me (Pcmac user)
I am happy that time tracking in the app Collab is possible natively, though it’s far not the best user experience. Once you understand the workflow, you can do it.
- If you use a timer, you can use a filter to show a project or a task. If you type your project name, it will NOT show you its tasks. Tasks belong to a project, if I search for a project, I want to see its tasks. This is not possible.
- You can not see tasks that aren't assined to your name so you can run a timer on it. If it’s just you - one person, you still have to assign tasks to your name to track time.
Anyway. Not many PM apps today have built in time tracking. So I have to live with AC limitations. :)
Ideally, I would like to see a timer icon/widget next to my task. Not as a separate application that is very limited in what it can do.

Simple to get running & simple to use
By arkmediaLC (Pcmac user)
It took me under a minute to get this running and another minute to grasp all it’s functionality. No documentation was needed. The UX is so straightforward and therefore very friendly to use and get going. I’ve used activeCollab Timer 3 in conjunction with our self-hosted activeCollab, and I found this timer to be a huge leap forward in simplicity and design.
One feature I think would be great for aC to consider is the ablity to track unassigned time that is not associated with any project or task. For example, my employees spend a lot of time logging hours on brainstorming and client calls prior to a proposal getting formally entered into collab. It would be great capture those hours without a project, and assign those hours when the project is eventually entered into the system.
Keep up the good work!

Major bugs.
By Half & Half guy (Pcmac user)
Vurrent version needs quite a bit of work. One bug making it unusable at the moment is the live time tracking feature. When you start a timer on a task and then stop it and attempt to save/finish it, the time disappears and is lost. It is also not saved in the app Colab.
