- To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.
- To use Simple Reader,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Simple Reader" » then Click "Install".
- Simple Reader for Hacker News will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Clean and fast

Since the ycombinator site is frustrating to read comments on I decided to try this app.
Super fast, very clean and gets the job done. Not sure about the posting functionality as I am a lurker.
I only wish it was 3D Touch ready for previewing links. Still a wonderful app none the less.

5 stars if it didn't crash on rotate

Solid and the app app that does everything you need it to without any fiddly extras. However, if portrait lock is off the app always crashes when the phone rotates. I would rather it stay locked in vertical than try to rotate and crash!

Clean, minimalistic like the website.

This is a functional, no frills app that does it job well. My only complaint is that I can't figure out how to log in and enter comments.

Decent interface that makes reading Hacker News more pleasant on mobile. The big glaring issue is that they don't use the Safari Web View Controller for reading web content so you don't get the familiar interface combined with your own extensions (like content blockers)
