2. The purpose of this App is to determine the Depth and Width required in an Inner or Outer Channel for a ship based on its Deepest Draft, Length Overall, and Beam.

3. The App can be used as a preliminary design method to determine the channel configuration (depth and width) for a ship to safely transit the channel with adequate clearances.

4. The calculations/factors involved are based on PIANC (The World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure) guidelines.

5. A detailed design will subsequently have to be conducted using PIANC guidance to confirm/finalize the results.
