1. NICS has been developed in close partnership with the Emergency Management Community and has been used on hundreds of real-world events since 2010 to coordinate responses to all-hazard incidents (earthquakes, floods, wildland fires), search and rescue operations, and major security events.

2. The Next-Generation Incident Command System (NICS) is a scalable, non-proprietary, standards-based software platform that provides rich, timely situational awareness, and cross jurisdictional collaboration to improve disaster response operations.

3. NICS supports both web and mobile clients.
