2. A Washington, Missouri landmark, Marquart's Landing was built in 1855 and was originally called the Pacific House, a name derived from the new raiload line.
3. The Landing was built to accommodate the influx of people coming to the area due to the Pacific Railroad, and in the beginning most of the guests were employees of the railroad.
