1. The inclusion of 388 development milestones covering five development categories and the recording of data at three month intervals for the first two years, makes this software the most detailed and comprehensive childhood development programme currently available.

2. Your Child’s Development Milestones (YCDM) is a software programme designed to record and analyse a wide variety of markers or milestones which are considered to be significant in the development of children from the age of three months to six years.

3. Recording the presence or absence of these milestones allows the software to calculate an overall development age for the child, and a development age in each of the above categories.

4. Your Child’s Development Milestones is an important parenting aid, especially for couples with their first child.

5. The early detection of development problems is very important as in many cases it can result in prompt remedial action which allows the child to develop normally.

6. The development milestones used in this software were selected on the basis of their common usage and their diagnostic significance.

7. The inclusion of flagged alerts ensures that parents will not miss development delays in any important milestone.

8. Important milestones such as crawling, walking or talking are flagged if the child fails to acquire them at a specified age.

9. Provision for image and voice attachment enables parents to include an oral and visual record of their child’s development.

10. Milestones are divided into categories, with 93 in Movement, 100 in Cognitive, 80 in Social and Emotional, 76 in Language and 39 in Hearing and Vision.

11. These markers are generally considered to be important indicators of the rate at which a chid acquires a variety of different physical, mental and emotional skills.
