1. The best rowers are selected to represent the club at Inter Club Regattas and based on performance are awarded the Club Color, a coveted honour that every oarsperson here aspires for.
2. With fellowship being an integral part of the club's culture, a variety of events and activities are organized through the year to bring members and their families together.
3. Established in1867, we are one of India's oldest Rowing Clubs, located by the river Adyar in the historic city of Chennai (formerly Madras) in Southern India.
4. Our membership is a healthy mix of rowing and social members, who combine to make MBC one of the finest sporting clubs in this part of the world.
5. Off the water, MBC has a strong social character with the membership being a blend of individuals from different backgrounds and walks of life.
6. Regattas are held at periodic intervals to give the more serious ones an opportunity to showcase their talent.
7. We also prepare our young rowers for School, Collegiate and National Regattas.
8. We are committed to the cause of promoting and encouraging the sport of amateur rowing and have done so for over 140 years.
9. On the water, we encourage rowers of all ages and abilities.
