1. SMART includes an admin web portal & a participant facing mobile app, which allows for secure messaging, study calendar management, self-scheduling by participants, secure photo uploads, & easy longitudinal tracking of participants from screening to study completion.

2. The mobile app uses local data storage for storing minimal information – e.g., app settings.

3. No user data or study related information will be saved within this database at any time.

4. All of the data displayed within the mobile app are retrieved in real time.

5. SMART is a HIPAA-compliant SaaS based mobile app.

6. The mobile app implements an automatic logout when there is an inactivity for more than 3 minutes.

7. The app does not request anything other than basic information from these authentication services.

8. All communication between the mobile app & the web service use SSL.

9. Firebase cloud messaging service is used for these notifications.

10. It aids studies with various aspects of participant retention.

11. The app uses traditional form authentication.
