1. All games in the EVS Coach series were developed in partnership with the Energy Innovation Center and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) with the goal of providing game-based practice to environmental service employees in-training.

The Energy Innovation Center is a Pittsburgh based, not-for-profit organization with a mission to engage corporate and community leaders, align workforce development and education, develop and demonstrate technology, and incubate businesses, to support emerging clean and sustainable energy markets.

3. Patient Protector challenges environmental service employees (EVS) to look over supposedly clean rooms and identify issues that were missed.

4. EVS Coach: Patient Protector along with all games in the EVS Coach series contains simplified aspects of environmental services training.

5. The games are intended to be used as part of a larger training curriculum and, as such, are not complete representations of all aspects of environmental services work.

6. Master three different hospital room types to call yourself patient protector: patient rooms, exam rooms, and operating rooms.

7. Show your environmental service expertise by spotting issues that were missed during the cleaning process.

8. UPMC is a world-renowned health care provider with more than 20 hospitals and 500 doctors’ offices based in Pittsburgh, PA.

9. EVS techs are on the front line in the fight against hospital infections as they fight to stop the transfer of microorganisms.

10. Mastery of gameplay does not certify a player to perform work as a hospital employee.

11. Play again and again to see new room layouts and new issues.
