Install Lux Meter - light measurement tool for measuring lumens, foot candles, lx and light temperature app on your Windows in 4 steps below:
- Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .
- Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.
- Using Lux Meter on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:
- Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Lux Meter"
- The search will reveal the Lux Meter - light measurement tool for measuring lumens, foot candles, lx and light temperature app icon. Open, then click "Install".
- Once Lux Meter is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Lux Meter.
- Now enjoy Lux Meter on PC.

- To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.
- To use Lux Meter,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Lux Meter" » then Click "Install".
- Lux Meter - light measurement tool for measuring lumens, foot candles, lx and light temperature will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Works decent enough but has a few bugs

This works well enough to use if you don't have any the app meters in hand. I currently have the pocket sized ex tech low range meter. This is my go to meter. Unfortunately the phones meter fluctuates a little too much for me and is usually a little off with the measurements. I'll try using this at night for a parking lot we are working on to help us with installing light posts. Also, when I click the info button it has an 'x' to go back. Every time I click the info button to land on that page the 'x' moves location. The text should also take up the width of the phone and not just 2/3 of it. Currently running on an iPhone 6 plus.

Too inconsistent to be worth much.

We cannot generate consistent readings with this App. One of our consulting engineers placed a professional meter next to the App and got widely different readings. We didn't expect the App to be super accurate but hoped that it would give our designers "ball park" readings. The reality is it appears to be no where near close. The same App on different iPhones generates different readings in the same location. Does this camera generate readings from the front or back camera? Do you place it on the lit surface or focus the camera on the surface? The documentation is lacking so it hard to know.

It is app makes accurate measurements as professional machines. Extremely stable and it runs smoothly. Quick and easy to use interface. I would definitely recommend it.

It seems to be accurate in determining white balance settings manually for a DSLR. I like this app a lot.
