If you want to install and use the Pantry Check - Grocery List app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use this app for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type Pantry Check - Grocery List in the search bar and press Search. Click on Pantry Check - Grocery List application icon. A window of Pantry Check - Grocery List on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use this app for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

  • Easiest Tracker and Budgeter of Groceries!!!

    By Jessybird
This app is wonderful. It actually scans in your product, allows you to input the expiration date, when it was bought and how much it cost. Than you can add it to a grocery list later and it includes the cost and adds it up so you know what to expect before you get to the store. I love this app. I do wish the developers would include the ability to search my inventory and than give me recipe suggestions like I have seen on other apps. The other apps are not nearly as good as this one though by far! Also I would really enjoy the ability to import recipes from websites or input myself (picture or type in). It would just be so awesome to have all these features in one app and I would like it to be this one because it has been the easiest and well organized that I have come across.
  • Super helpful app!

    By mgmiller68
Super helpful app in being able to keep track of when pantry items will expire. And am so appreciative that the developers recently added expiration notifications, so that I can receive reminder alerts about items that will soon expire. However, I wish they would add some variability options in the user interface so that we as the users can decide when/how often we get the reminders, as it seems in the current non-adjustable setup, I start getting expiration alerts when an item still has 4 days left before it will expire, and sometimes I get these expiration reminders multiple times in one day (really only need one reminder per day). My hope is that the developers will make the expiration reminders configurable by us the users within the app, so we as the users can determine when the reminders are sent (and how often they are sent). In another app that I use (from a different developer), they have settings where, for example, I can set the reminders to alert me 1, 3, 5 and 7 days prior to the expiration. In the meantime, I’m loving this app and am finding it to be such a big help, as I don’t want to risk consuming items that have expired (and therefore risk getting sick), or discarding items before they expire.
  • Unanswered Support

    By iEchoPark
No response to this support email I wrote 2 weeks ago, and so we have not been able to fully utilize the app. So my ignored support request / questions below are the basis for this 2star review: Is there a manual or are there vid tutorials for the app? I am winging it here and it’s been a slow go. The UI isn’t as intuitive as I thought it would be. Without clear instruction we cannot get up and running with the app, and I don’t want to upgrade until I understand features. I’m not clear on a number of things. 1). Most importantly - how do I manually enter “barcodeless” produce / items that we order from our local farm delivery - or produce that we buy at our farmers market? It’s a lot of items. 2). How do I set inventory view to classify by item location (my customized shelves, cabinets, etc.)? 3). Also how do I preset the different stores where we purchase different product BEFORE I’m actually physically at that store using iOS Location Services. And then... 4). do I opt to view only for items from that store? So, for example, when going to Trader Joe’s, of course we only want to take inventory of those items - (still listed by location as in question 2). 5). How do I set a “when to order” baseline (perhaps 1/4 or 1/3) of all products that aren’t consumed “all at once” like flour, sugar, dry beans, seeds, nuts, honey, paper towel, dish soap, (my list goes on and on).
  • Love It--Never have to Toss Expired Food Again

    By mojojomo55
This app lets you scan in your products by barcode and add expiration dates. I thought the app would be handy just to keep a general count of our food inventory. I tend to overbuy things when they're on super sale. However, entering the expiration dates has been the real beauty of the app. Our grandmothers watch our kids. So there are 4 adults using our kitchen and we store food in 3 places (kitchen, garage & front closet). Everyone organizes a little differently, so some of us thought the soonest expiration date should be stored in the front of the shelf, others to the back of the shelf, and others split into a different location. Now the app tells us the oldest expiration date at a glance. So it doesn't matter so much how its organized.

  • Need physical locations

    By @Better2BeKind
I like being able to scan a label and poof it’s there! Scanning a grocery receipt is better. Upon setting up the refrigerator contents, I wanted to create a location for vegan Items I have at work, home, and my boyfriend’s house. I also want to mark that I have canned soup in the pantry and leftover soup in the fridge or freezer at each house. I’m really going to have to play with this to do what I want.

  • Great one Inventory app! (From Inventory Management professional)

I am very impressed with Pantry Check! Just getting started but so far, it is very easy to give this app five stars. Well done!
  • Ok, but...

    By Nina-MS
Easy to scan which is good, but not user-friendly: when viewing inventory you can only see items by date they were added to list, but not alphabetically, which makes it difficult to verify what you have; you cannot share the list with other users, unless you game family share.
  • Love it!

This is one of the most useful apps! I don’t loose food in the back of my pantry and more or buy duplicates of things I already have.
