Astropad Standard for Pc

I was really hesitant to buy this app after seeing the mixed reviews, but I went ahead and made the purchase and I’m glad I did. I’ve been using my iPad Pro as a drawing tablet for a little over a month on ProCreate, but I really wanted to use it on the computer similar to a Cintiq. After getting my first MacBook and this app, I finally got the chance. The first thing I tried was the WiFi mode since I don’t like being tethered to my computer if I can help it. Sadly, the mode is essentially unusable for me. As soon as I open the app it immediately just opens and refreshes the screen over and over and cannot connect. Once I switched to the usb mode, there were no issues whatsoever. Contrary to some of the reviews, I’ve experienced 0 lag at all upon switching to the connected mode. As soon as I draw it registers it seamlessly. Even when running numerous apps in the background I have experienced no lag. Keep in mind, I am using a pretty strong Mac and iPad so my experiences may not be universal. I have also not contacted their customer service as I’ve had no issues, so I can’t vouch for how helpful or not they are.

I have gone through 4 tablets (this iPad Pro included) and this is the best drawing tablet experience I’ve had with the app. I bought a Cintiq and it broke out the box, so I switched to a Huion kamvas 221 gt and it didn’t last a year. I had to deal with their customer service for over 2 weeks to get a refund, and I still gotta ship the thing back. the app has everything you need in a drawing tablet. Hot keys and touch zoom/panning, it has everything. The Apple Pencil is super responsive with photoshop, I’ve yet to use it on other drawing programs but I’m sure it’ll work just as well. If you own an iPad Pro, an Apple Pencil and are looking to upgrade to a drawing tablet. Pick this up, it works amazingly

I don't know why but I'm starting to think this company want to push all of us to the subscription based app. This app is all I wanted to be able to continue working on my designs from other areas via Wifi and it helped me a lot with Adobe apps to the point I think it is impossible to work without it. This is not a $5 app. This app is really expensive and we decided to pay the amount so we can replace our old Wacom tablet or cintiq and keep working as a pro. You sold this app as a pro app and now you are saying this is a 'lite' app?? So we pay you monthly or yearly to use your 'Pro' app? Seriously? What happened if I need to finish a job and I can't pay that month for any reason? You mean if I've been paying you almost a $80 a year and forget to pay the next day I can't use your app? So I'm just renting your service? That's it? Listen you need to offer your app also with a one time payment for people like me that need to have that tool anytime and know that is there because I bought it. $150? Go ahead. I prefer paying you one time for me to have a tool as good as it is but don't do evil moves like "if you want to rotate your drawing you need to have a subscription" because you are pushing people to buy a new Wacom Cintiq. Understand?

This app was great while I could use it. But if like me, you can’t update your macOS for various reasons, eventually, your Mac app will be stuck at a certain version, and the iOS app will continue updating until, without warning, it loses compatibility—and you are left with nothing. And you cannot return to the older version due to App store policy, according to the app support. So the only way to avoid this is to turn off ipad app automatic updates before compatibility breaks, which I absolutely would have done. But there is no way to know at what iOS app version compatibility breaks because there is no warning. the app needs to send out major email warnings whenever there is an upcoming break in compatibility for those of us who need to stay on older software. But because they didn’t, though I paid for the app I no longer have it.
