Six Ages for Pc

Gorgeous art, a fascinating world like no other, a wonderful story with great characters all wrapped up in a cool little city simulator. this app is a great game, and there is almost nothing out there like it. You have city full of advisors with their own personalities and agendas and petty squabbles and you get to see them grow up and change and die and be replaced by younger folk who are changed by the choices the previous generation made. You can explore a genuinely strange and surprising fantasy world, full of detail and strange corners and never feeling cliche. There is a neat little sim game at the heart of it, with a tech tree in the form of magic, land management, multi generational projects, political alliances and battles - but with the catch that you don’t have a God’s eye view, and can only know things that your advisors know and the only hard numbers you see are things your advisors can count. All of this with some of the most gorgeous art I’ve ever seen in a game, a collection of paintings that make you feel like you’re playing inside a story book. If you come from King of Dragon Pass, know that this app has a much gentler learning curve with less tedious management, but has added some new choices like year long projects and more interesting combat. My only complaint is that while the music is good, there maybe isn’t enough of it, feeling a little thin beside the sheer quantity of background art and variety of story paths. Can’t recommend enough.

Just like KoDP the app Winds does an amazing job telescoping scales of storytelling, from interpersonal, tribal and kingdom levels. Had a silly issue with the game and the staff was very helpful and responded quickly.

My problem is that I’m tactilely inept, so frequently my fingers accidentally touch a choice I don’t intend to select, and there’s no undo or back button to get out of the screen that then comes up. I can understand not having an undo for a final result, but when it’s an intermediate choice like ‘How much do you sacrifice”… Update: Oh, cool, that does help, thank you.

I played KoDP and this is an excellent follow up. I can’t wait for more of these games in the future.
