  • Amazing app

    By randysch (Pcmac user)

Who would have thought an app could actually improve the outcome of knee and hip surgery? Obviously the people who created this app did, and did a great job of putting together small, bite-size pieces of things too, which include both pre-hab and re-hab. I was surprised to find some holistic items, such as meditations and nutritional advice for healing included in something that would appeal to the medical community. I think this is a good step and it works. Every day there’s something to do that’s easy and only takes a few minutes, so the motivation to continue is there. I am now in the rehab part and again I’m surprised that the app continues to provide things to do and learn, but I was even more surprised to find out questions I had were answered right when I started having those questions, which helped me relax about the process of healing, and also kept me from bothering the medical staff with questions that have simple answers. I highly recommend this to doctors to use for their patients for both knee and hip surgeries.
  • Good and yet redundant.

    By monicajane63 (Pcmac user)

I was first introduced to the PeerWell in 2017, in its free developmental stage, when I was looking for help before a hip replacement. It became more formalized in the middle of my hip rehab and they started charging monthly so I stopped. Came back two years later, pre-op for a partial knee replacement. Because I had positive feelings about the prehab for my hip I decided I would pay the $50/month for the program. Silly me!! It was the EXACT same info as for the hip replacement program. How can that be, they are different joints and very different procedures. Absolutely zero unique material (same as two years ago) until the rehab section where a range of motion activity is included for each day of knee rehab. Okay. That makes sense, good one. Oh and rate my pain for my physician (my surgeon does not support PeerWell)so why do I have to do that?? But the exercises in rehab are the same as prehab, the meditations are repeats, the helpful hints are the same... why am I still doing this?? Oh wait! I’m not. I’ve cancelled after four weeks of rehab. Oh!! And how do you cancel?? It’s not obvious, you have to go through technical support. There should be a simple place on the settings to cancel. I think it’s a great idea, but it needs an overhaul and that doesn’t seem to be coming anytime soon. There are other apps you can use that don’t charge - MyKnee and BoneSmart to name two. Think twice before you do this if your surgeon does not participate.
  • Why not??

By COME ON, try it!! (Pcmac user)

Why not give this a try?? Why? Because if your focus is on getting back to your life without a hitch THIS IS YOUR ANSWER! When each day’s session arrives in your inbox, DO IT! Every single day there is more to learn in an easy to understand format. Hate using your cell phone because the letters are too small? NO WORRIES as we can do this on our computer or laptop. My intentions were to do this surgery without complications, I knew I had to trust the pros and PeerWell stepped right up! Do those relaxation techniques! I woke up from surgery calm and collected having used the relaxation tools right before going in. You’re going to love this! Now I’m ready to start playing again!!
  • Clark’s Review

    By clark tennis (Pcmac user)

PeerWell provides a lot of great information both pre- and post-surgery. It is critical to start with the strengthening and circulation exercises as far before your surgery as possible. This will help get a jump-start on the post-surgery process. Be diligent, review the materials every day, pay attention the diet info and stay on top of the exercises. They are just the start. Move as much as possible as soon as you are comfortable doing so. Motion is lotion. Don’t be afraid of all of the pain, just don’t over do it. Good luck with your surgery and recovery.
